O.K. Lady Blue.... I like your little Whut kitty he is a cutie and if I saw him in real life he might have to come home with me. Been wanting to say something about him and this seems like an appropriate thread to derail about a cute kitty. No fireman was used in the rescue of this kitty.... what a shame.....lol
Tourist you light up my world as you are my Sunshine no firemen were used in the rescue of tourist either.....I was the one doing the rescuing.......Light bulb anyone....or are we all still in the dark from the last CFL blow up? Fire is blazing call 911 ...Is there Fireman in the house?

What are you buying normal light bulbs for? I find the abnormal ones last longer. Don't use CFL as they are combustible and require a standby fireman who may or may not be on call to come and put the fire out......Stand back as it could blow anytime. What ever you do never use a normal light bulb again......lol
If you mean this literally, then I would suggest that there may be something wrong with your power lines -- voltage too high, voltage varies too much, random-but-too-often transient conditions on the line, etc. - something - whatever -- that could possibly reduce the life of the bulbs...
I would think that - in most "average" conditions / situations - a normal incandescent filament light bulb should last well over a year ( sometimes, several years --- best my memory serves, "at least they used to"... ).
I believe that normal light bulbs last a long time. I hope that this is helpful. Oh, avoid the new abnormal bulbs 'cause they have a tendency to burst into flames.
Blond enters room turns on light.........pop.......FIRE!!!......Must be a CFL bulb hanging upside down and flames are coming out everywhere......Someone call the fire department quick!!!!!

"If this is a normal fire press 1, a fire from an abnormal CFL bulb right-side up press 2, a fire from an abnormal CFL bulb hanging upside down press 3, or other types of fires go outside and turn your hose on."
