To all the new people, and others of course. Wanted to let you know that here is a thread for you to just have general chats with folks about pretty much anything, as long as it's good and clean chat.

Many new people have come on board with Christian chat lately, so I thought I would welcome you all to The Chat Thread😀.

For all those who are new here, here is a thread to be able to have general chat with others about whatever good and kind conversations you all would like to have.

May you all find some fun and good use of this room. Oh, and there is a lightbulb out in the back of the living room of the thread and some new ones in the closet. While your here, if you don't mind changing the bulb, I'd appreciate it🙂.

Hey, figuared I'd come here to follow up on camping , so I don't have someone comment on taking up space in the random thread, lol.

Have you ever thought about camping as an adult? So much fun! Do you have any friends that you could go out and camp with?
I have been working on finding new spots I have to hiking into to go camping. Don't mind the regular spots, but want to go where not many people go. I also love the view at the top of hikes, so finding a scenic area and a good spot to camp is my winter criteria😁.

Ah, good idea!
You know, I thought about it once, but I don't think it's for me. I think I enjoy hiking more than camping (I'm an odd nut )
Recently, my family and I (I still live at home) visited Yosemite when the park was open. No waterfalls, but then again it was early fall. Still, those mountains! They're so beautiful! Have you ever been?

Yes, the road less travelled! We did that once on a short hike and found a lovely creek (have to remember to go back for family picnics!)
Hey, have you ever heard of Geocaching? It's super fun.

Well, I have never been to Jellystone, I mean Yellowstone...yet. definately on my list!
I have heard of Geocaching. I know there is some websites that have the locations to GPS them. I believe I did that once actually. Have to put that back on my list.

Ya, most times I just go for hiking. But trying to get back into backpacking, which puts in some tent camping as well. Some good views at the top of the ridge lines.

Have you found some good things Geocaching? If so, what have you found?

oooops! maybe I should've read this thread BEFORE "RANDOM" thread today :p
or then again, maybe this shows that you realized what you were doing and tried to get yourself out of "trouble"

Either which way, thanks for leaving all the great laughs around here to read and reset what had started as a crummy morning

nope, had to look that up.
So, my understanding is that it's like some sort of worldwide GPS scavenger hunt?
Sounds interesting and fun!

My older brother has a friend who did backpacking. He loves doing that sort of stuff (I think he said he did it in Europe? It was a long time ago.)
Uh let's see. I think we mostly found little trinkets like a beaded bracelet, some stickers. My sister found a really cool guitar pick. It was this really pretty purple color (of course, neither of us play the guitar  That might be a problem) Awhile back, we found a tracking bug. This one older gentleman hides geocaches near his house, and he showed us some of the tracking bugs he had. One was more like a vinyl sticker on the side of his jeep. So geocachers take a picture or log in the number to the geocaching site.
