Re: Matchmaking Thread (Round Two)

Firemen are beautiful people too.... I happened to be married to one of those hunks as he was a volunteer fireman who was also a Police officer I love men in uniforms there is nothing wrong with them.. There are no fireman pictures posted, why are we jumping on someone just because they were mentioned?

I guess I just don't understand....
Sorry to hop back onto the serious train for just a minute... My first/high school boyfriend became an EMT and volunteer firefighter.

I never saw him as a gorgeous hunk of meat, but rather, as someone who was out risking his life to save the lives of others. That really hit home to me when his partner was called onto a case in which two college-age students were killed and my boyfriend took me to the store where they were killed when it re-opened. He pointed out the bloodstains the owners had been unable to wash out of the carpet because they were in such a hurry to get the store up and running again, as if nothing had happened.

I had a candid conversation with him once about whether people usually die with their eyes open or closed, like in the movies.

He would have said he was just a regular guy who felt a strong calling to serve the public. He had really wanted to serve in the military but was rejected, so to him, this was the next best thing. I don't think it's a matter of not having fun or picking on anyone...

It's just a matter of showing respect to real people who are putting their own lives on the line for the sake of others.

Re: Matchmaking Thread (Round Two)

it was my intention to offer a kind, good-natured reminder/comment about the fact that the last time firemen were brought up, thoroughly discussed, objectified with a host of lustful, inappropriate comments made by you (and a couple others) while being passed off as a joke (or even something funny) it was pretty offensive to many, not to mention, what i considered to be quite disrespectful to our brothers.

what my church denomination or "appreciating good looking people" has nothing to do with this. i apologize if you felt targeted, and perhaps i should have messaged you privately.

anyway, if you need a reminder of what i am talking about, here is the thread i am referencing. your posted photo was #57, i believe. but the fireman comments started about 10 posts earlier. the moderator's comments about this photo #76.

as tempted as i might be, i am not going to go on about why i think we should not be using cc as a place to talk about hunky firemen and the potential joy of finding one. i would think that would be obvious. but if it's not clear, let me know and i'll be happy to share my thoughts on PM. : )

welcome back.
LMBO let the whomevers tell me in a intellegent and decent manner not to mention firemen kk? thanks ;)

Trinity, please watch that attitude of yours. Flouncing rules isn't going to win you any friends or make you tight with the mods.

But.. what rule did she break? Is mentioning firemen now against the rules? Or is it posting pics of men with their sleeves rolled up? :) I ask this in a nice way. :)

I'm not talking about the firemen. It's all in the attitude towards others.

Ok, but in my opinion she was criticized a bit harshly there about the fireman thing so I'm sure she was just responding specifically to that post.

It is long over and done with. The offending parties apologized. Apparently some people here can't keep themselves from throwing other people's mistakes in their faces every now and again.. smh :/ Now please let it go and move on to something more relevant, such as the OP of this thread. :)

Weird. I was trying to help.
I'm sure you were, but it's a subject that needs to go back into the past from whence it came. :)
