1. What was the last fictional book you read? Cannot remember.

2. When was the last time you cried? Last night while watching a few of the music videos posted on here. Was a good cry. :)

3. The last road trip I took was. October 2013. Gathered together with three other ladies for the weekend, enjoyed the fellowship while sewing.

1. if we held a cc talent show, what would be your talent?
Aside from always answering these kinds of questions like a boss...
Watch as I spray paint this rusty old wagon wheel and make it glitter in the sunlight!
(I need cooler skillz)

2. are you more likely to orchestrate a practical joke on someone, or more likely to be the recipient of a practical joke?
I'm totally the one having jokes played on me. I tried to get my mom one time, when I was really little, but felt so bad I ruined it by telling her about it first.

3. other than scriptural references, what's the best piece of advice someone has given you, and who said it?
"Why don't you get your head out of the clouds and give living in the real world a try?"- my step-dad (it's all out of context there, but that's okay)

1. if we held a cc talent show, what would be your talent?

Hmmm....singing/playing piano/a dance routine would be expected, but I do those all the time, so I would probably do something unpredictable, like a dramatic interpretation of a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream using an exaggerated southern accent. :)

2. are you more likely to orchestrate a practical joke on someone, or more likely to be the recipient of a practical joke?

Both are fun, but I would be more likely to orchestrate.

3. other than scriptural references, what's the best piece of advice someone has given you, and who said it?

"Rub some dirt on it and get going" ~ my stepdad

He did not cut me any slack just because I was female. He encouraged me to try new things. He encouraged me to learn as much as possible. He encouraged me to fight for what I wanted. And he did not tolerate whining, slackers or fools.

Let's see if I do this right...

1. If we held a cc talent show, what would be your talent?
Singing? I'm shy about my talents so if we had a talent show, it would take a lot for me to get up there to do anything.

2. Are you more likely to orchestrate a practical joke on someone, or more likely to be the recipient of a practical joke?
The recipient. I'm fairly gullible/easily surprised at times so it's not too hard to pull one on me. I probably shouldn't be letting everyone know that. :)

3. Other than scriptural references, what's the best piece of advice someone has given you, and who said it?
My dad says, "If you change nothing, nothing will change." I don't know if he made it up or heard it somewhere else, but I like it. I can't say I want something to change in my life and then not change anything and complain about it.

So, I'm a post number ending in 5 (at least, as I type this I am), so I ask new questions, right?

1. If you could go to dinner with one famous person, from the past or present, who would it be and why?
2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why?
3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

1. If you could go to dinner with one famous person, from the past or present, who would it be and why?

This will probably be a lot of people's answer but Jesus. I want to thank him and just have a nice conversation.

2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why?

Noah's Ark, it sounds amazing and I'd love to see all the animals.

Moses parting the Red Sea, totally cool. Plus him freeing everyone.

Jesus feeding the people, to see Jesus speak and the reactions from the crowd.

3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

My dream home is called Falling Water, it's a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Mill Run Pennsylvania, I love this place. It's a museum now, they have it set up the same as when the Kauffmans who owned the home lived there. It was built into nature and you can open up this space on the floor and hear the running creek. That's my dream, tranquility and a running creek, a lot of windows.

I will have dinner with Jesus one day, so I'm going to say King David. I see so much of myself in him.

2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why?

What walking in the garden with God would be like, the powerful parting of the sea and the glory of the Ascension of Christ.

3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

One of these two:

http://www.hemingwayhome.com/ Hemingway's home in Key West. I love old homes, love the gardens, love Key West :)

1. If you could go to dinner with one famous person, from the past or present, who would it be and why?

I'd want to have dinner with Kevin Rose. He's ridiculously intelligent, funny, and down to earth. I think he'd be great to hang out with, and he's the type of person you could talk about anything with. ( honest,I don't have a crush on him )

2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why?

1-When Jesus comes to the rescue of the woman who is to be stoned. I want to see exactly what it was He really was writing in the dirt.
2-When Jesus called Lazarus from the grave. Because it would have been amazing to see someone who had died,be raisied from the dead...also to have been around to see Jesus' interaction with Lazarus' family & friends. I always found the story very moving.
3-When God gave Job his discourse. I have always loved the book of Job. It has always spoken to me on many levels. I wonder what it must have been like to have the Almighty basically 'one up you'. Then restore you. I dunno...just an amazing story.

3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

Now this is a tough question..good one,but tough.I go back & forth on this quite a bit. It would be anywhere that it wasn't terribly humid,I know that much. I have too many amazing ideas in my head for a "dream house". I'm not very materialistic at all,so if it was "filled with things"...those things would be books..and crazy artwork...maybe insane beautiful sculptures, possibly a music room with various instruments....some sort of amazing bathroom for sure. But as far as the home structure itself...I love the idea of someplace built into a hill like in the Shire in the Lord of the Rings, but I like the idea of living near water too...like in a lighthouse on top of a huge cliff overlooking the sea...or a castle...or some sort of treehouse in the middle of a forest. I would love to have land that had great big sunflowers & cherry blossom trees & weeping willows..and things all covered in vines & ivy growing up the sides of it. Yup. True Story.

hmmm.....I think it would be interesting to experience a "day in the life" of certain historical periods. Not necessarily with famous people, but just regular peasant life. Maybe have a meal with a common family in feudal England, or maybe even an older time....like ancient Egypt.

2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why?
I would like to see the Creation - I could come back and say to all the evolutionist creation-bashers, "Nope. Yer wrong! I was there!" and then I would be committed.

I would like to see God call up his people so we can settle this whole "pre-trib," "mid-trib," "post-trib" thing.

I would like to have been a fly on the wall when Abraham visited Melchizedek.

3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

of course, I'd have to be Hobbit-sized to really be comfortable here:

My paternal great aunt. She and her husband did missionary work in China. I read her diaries and have seen pictures of them while they were in China. She was born and raised on a farm in Iowa. She traveled from Iowa to Washington and then by ship to China in 1897 or around about that time.

2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why?

Abigail meeting King David. He was ready to kill, she stopped that.

Near the woman with the alabaster box. Would loved to have heard what was said and watched how Jesus talked to her.

In the upper room on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2) when Peter spoke to those gathered there. WOW!

3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

Don't have a picture of it. But plans were drawn up and land was to have been purchased for it. Cancer took a spouse and life went in another direction. House had a large kitchen, deck outside the kitchen and dining room area, study or den, separate sewing room with walls of windows for light, wrap around porch. Lots of windows. A big flower garden. Place for it to be built - near a lake with mountains in the background.

I still contend that Christ was writing the names of women that each of those Pharisees had known. That's why they all left one at a time...each one only left when He wrote a name that convicted his heart. ^_^

I always thought it might be each of their sins...stuff that they did secretly, and no one but God would have known.
It's always intrigued me though. I like yer' idea on it too.

Wow, what a thought. Interesting.

I've wondered that too.

Whatever it was, it sure had an impact...they left.

that's actually my theory too. i used to think that it was a version of that (perhaps sins), but how much can you write in dirt that isn't completely and immediately recognizable? names would silence people faster than a less specific statement.

how very interesting. my grandfather grew up in china. as my great grandparents were missionaries there. he still remembered (up to his death) the boat trip they took to china when he was only 3 years old.

that was 1921...woah.

thank you, i think. hmm... unusual by others' standards? maybe.

i've got the truckload of journals. but someone else will have to sift through the stuff. i'm too busy working on the future chapters. : )

1. If you could go to dinner with one famous person, from the past or present, who would it be and why?

i've always admired elisabeth elliot. she is a brainy woman of faith and action, and has served in a number of capacities --missionary, educator, bible teacher, and more. after her husband was killed by the tribe that they served as missionaries, she continued to stay there for (i believe) a couple years while being a single mom to their infant daughter. she was a contributor to the NIV bible, and served as inspiration to many christians, especially "during her day". i first learned about her from my grandmother, and we used to listen to her radio program occasionally.

you could say elisabeth was the first modern day female christian superhero i came to know.

2. What three events from the Bible would you want to go back and witness first person and why? i had so much trouble choosing three! since i already mentioned my first thought, which has already been mentioned by itore, i'm going to pick the following:

i am endlessly fascinated with studying the life of Christ during the time in which He ministered, taught, performed miracles and healed the people. i have this idea of how the crowds formed and the difficulties he had in navigating the throngs of people who had heard news and wanted to see and learn more about what was happening,
+i love the interaction between Jesus and the centurion who appeals on behalf of his servant.
+would love to have been a fly on the wall while Jesus was angry with those who attempted to keep the children away from Him, instead welcoming and blessing them.
+when Jesus was 12 he slipped away from his family and was seated in the temple in nazareth talking with the temple teachers who were intrigued with what He had to say. again, would've loved to be a fly on the wall during some of those "Jesus the youngster" days.

3. What does your dream home look like? Where is it?

probably some place that i have spent a lot of time as a kid, and with high elevation. that would either NW montana or the sierras near tahoe.

i am into ultra rustic, a don't-mind-the-creek-in-the-living-room kind of girl, and much of my decor and things i've picked up over the years are a reflection of that. i'm also obsessed with restoration hardware-ish types of things, and love to refinish and re-purpose cool old stuff, like old doors and gates. i'm big into nostalgia.

i am also anti-kitchen gadget. i love simplicity. it took me a long time to figure out that i can do more things with my heavy iron skillet than with 4324234 gadgets, and so i refuse to have a ton of stuff in my kitchen. i have a friend who has 400 wooden spoons and at least that many kitchen tools. i can't deal with that. i don't like my drawers to overflow with stuff or have to dig for things.

i also hate bright lights and overly jarring visual details. every light switch should have a slider, and every window should have a veiled curtain, at least. i'd really love to have a bathtub that looks onto a scene more interesting than my backyard compost pile.

as far as the rest of it, if i'm making a wish list, i can't forget about putting in my request for a 1000 acres of BLM land to ride on--i wouldn't complain about that. if there's a 6 stall barn with an indoor/outdoor ring... i could go on all day.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, new questions:

1. what's on your spirtitual bucket list?

2. what's your favorite time of year, and why?

3. is there a specific job or general occupation that you'd enjoy the experience of having for a day or even a whole week? why?
