I suppose I should answer my own questions, huh? :)

Has visiting the singles forum been helpful to you? If so, how so? I'm not as closed off/compartmentalized as I was when I came here. It's been pretty cool to be able to crack the shell open a bit and feel somewhat human again.

What have you learned most about relationships from reading these threads? In my work everyday I see the RESULTS of the pain most people are suffering, but I don't think I fully realized the depth of much of it and how common some things really are, such as abuse and mental illness. Makes me want to be a better listener. There's a world full of people, but so many feel so isolated.

What have you learned about the opposite gender from reading these threads? I've learned that, for all of their "problem solving" perspectives (and that's a GOOD thing, I'm NOT mocking; it's what guys do and it's why we need them), men still want the happily ever after too. It's a pleasant surprise.

Have you learned anything about yourself by coming here? I think the Lord has shown me that I have more to offer than I realized and should be doing far more for the Kingdom than I have been.

I agree that sometimes we really go head-to-head (though, thankfully, not nearly as often as some of the forums). I'm probably as guilty as the next person. I'm thankful when a friend taps me on the shoulder and says, hey...enough already. You're wasting your time and you don't need this.

As for the silliness..yeah. We do get a little silly and derail from time to time, but hopefully at a point when most of the important stuff has been addressed and further posts would be redundant. Even if not, a break in the intensity can be good too so that we don't reach critical mass. I don't know about anyone else, but I do enough serious on a daily basis. I need a LITTLE levity. Some of the folks here are among the sharpest I've met and I appreciate them more than they know. <3

What I've learned from reading the threads is this:

Attractive people tend to post about failed relationships and how hard it is to find the right one.

Most singles here tend to tell others to trust and get closer to God instead of focusing on finding someone.

A few here tend to post about their inadequacy in attracting the opposite sex.

Me, I'm just here for the free cookies :D

Bacon and chocolate together is a reason for waking up in the morning. No joke.

I have learned the best way to derail a thread is by adding an awesome pic with a lame caption...

And I think everybunny would agree with me.

How can anyone disagree with such a cute fuzzy baby bunny! :) I actually got a chance to pet some baby bunnies once at a pet store. You won't believe how soft their fur is. They are even cuter in person :)

back to the point. I think I've learned a lesson here thanks to green n nice. All those polls on how men view asking women out and comments coming from them in the poll about if women want direct approaches and such. So thanks green. I knew men think differently than women, but it really brought it home to me how differently we percieve situations. :)

I have learned the more I learn, the less I understand.

I have learned people in the Christian crowd really aren't that different from the non Christian crowd.

I've realized I have more of a sweet tooth than I once thought.
~~==~~
The real ones are (different).

The Lord leads.

Your welcome, girlnext, , good words, the Lord led, and,Thank you as sure it helped all we guys to hear from the hearts and minds of all the ladies :)

It's true that men see things differently, but I've been a bit surprised to learn that they don't always see things as differently as I initially thought...or maybe just not as detached as I once thought.

I have learned that for many ppl (including me) helping others helps ourselves too to heal.

An elderly pastor taught me as a child that there's more to the scripture about Him being the Vine and us being the branches than we realize. He said that when we need healing in our lives (or have other needs), when we take our eyes off of ourselves and begin to pray for the needs of others, healing flows through us and our lives as well. I have found that to be true many times. When something is bothering me and I direct my attention elsewhere, seems like I wake up one day and the thing I thought to be such a big deal is either minimalized or completely gone.
