I didn't know cooking cookies was so controversial.

On my new interview list for potential mates:

Are you on parole?
Do you like underage girls?
Do you cook your cookies the appropriate amount of time?

I check around 8, actually I check around 7 because I want to make sure it doesn't burn (I've had bad experiences).

I think the only thing that this thread confirms is our beloved moderator is not a baker.

Hahaha, but the cookie question should be enough to answer the previous questions.

yeah but you cant even cook, hence your opinion in this thread is completely pointless ;)

How would you know I can't cook.
I can have Wesley call you and tell you I can tyvm!

Nevermind the fact that when he was around 6 or 7 I was cooking and the smoke alarm went off like 7 times. He came out of his room and said "Momma! Will you please stop cooking! You're giving me a headache!"

True story.

This test will tell you everything you need to know about someone you're interested in.

Ask them...

When you're cooking, and the instructions say to bake it for 8 to 10 minutes - how long do you put it in?

Do they put it in for 8 or 10 or do they split the difference at 9? Do they plan on 10 but check around 7, for just in case?

I'm telling you, the reply to this scenario WILL tell you EVERYTHING you may or may not want to know.
I use the time as guidelines, because I know that the cooking time varies based upon different variables. I'd probably set it for the lowest amount of time and then check on it frequently.

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS:

There is nothing that bakes for only 8 to 10 minutes! That short a time means you are only heating up something thats already been cooked.
I can think of several things that only need to actually bake for around 10 minutes because the components are prepared prior to baking. :)

I would set it for 10 but check at 8. My oven is old, so it doesn't always finish baking at the max time.

What exactly is that 'test' supposed to prove anyway?

That no one can get along and people will argue over the most mundane things.

Depends on what the instructions on the packaging says, I guess. *shrugs* I would check in on 8 minutes, if I approve, take it out. If not, then I'll leave it in for the additional two minutes. And if it dosen't turn out so well, I'm boiling some chicken, mixing mash potatos, and opening a can of mix vegetables. :p

Cookies vary by type, it's not just the oven you own that decides the time. When I make molasses cookies it takes ONLY a few minutes (less than 8-10) before that toothpick poked in there comes out clean as a whistle, so to speak. That's my tweet (you used more than 140 characters!) on cooking sweets :D

0h, allfunfor, does parole-free since 2003 matter?
How underage?
Do you want to argue (after cookie cooking) how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
:D
