One Christmas I was so tired from all the cake baking I had in one weekend that I forgot to put sugar in a coconut cake batter... I noticed it looked funny. I had to toss it out and remake the whole batter recipe.

I once forgot to put the sugar in some pumpkin pies I was making. As I put them in the oven, my thumb slipped into the filling a bit. After I closed the door, I licked my fingers and discovered my mistake. I had to dump them in a bowl, add sugar, then refill the pies. They were messy, but still tasted good.

I often overcook salmon and it gets rubbery.

I made a batch of orange/ginger marmalade last year that didn't set, so I use over salmon. It is delicious unless I overcook the salmon.

While on a low carb diet, I once made some artichoke cheese squares that were absolutely horrid. Dry and tasteless. I tossed them.

Though I am sure I made some mistakes as a beginner cook, such as getting baking powder and baking soda mixed up, I can't remember the details, although I am sure a few batches of cookies and a cake or two got tossed out.

Nowadays, my kitchen mistakes usually involve burning things due to multitasking. CC and broiling meats are not activities that should be done at the same time.

The worst thing I ever made... might be sitting in the freezer right now, rapidly cooling down. I made a traditional pound cake the traditional way - pound of eggs, pound of flour, pound of butter, pound of sugar (and before you ask, a pound of eggs is about two cups. "A pint's a pound" is the traditional rule of thumb, though of course that doesn't apply to neutronium.) Then I thought why not boil some corn syrup, melt some chocolate in it and pour it over the cake? So I cut two circular trenches in the circular cake and poured the stuff over it. When I dump it out of the cake pan I'll see if it is actually good or just crazy. Or maybe both.

I've done peanut butter oatmeal before. It sounded good in theory... but it wasn't.
Hahaha, I made pb oatmeal yesterday :D
This is definitely divine if this has happened to all three of us
I took an garlic crusher and put fruit in it and had it be 'pb&j' oatmeal.
....I do not have experience working in nursing homes I promise. lol.
I think we should start a support group for those of us whose lives have been, uh... touched... by peanut butter oatmeal.

Choosy mothers choose Jiff. I find that very touching.

That's just propaganda. Choosy mothers choose real peanut butter, made with peanuts and salt. They don't choose something that has so much mono- and diglycerides. Eating Jiff is like eating a peanut flavored candle.

It wasn't good. So much for tradition. I know what a pound is, and I put a pound of all four in it...

It came out really oily, with a texture like custard, but custard as solid as cake usually is. Like very, very firm custard. The flavor was great though. The only good part was the part that chocolate had gotten into.

When my Mom went back to work full time she asked me to make dinner when I got home from school. I don't remember what the whole meal was but I cooked can peas, I drained the water and burnt the peas. I was 16 and never cooked can veggies before. See this is why you shouldn't coddle your children.

I think I've mentioned this on here along time ago, but, when I was little, my brother got this really good idea to make something for mother's day. (First mistake, never listen to my older brother when it comes to cooking.) We made coco covered carrots, and not the sweet coco. No, we used the Hershey's Coco powder. And toasted it in the toaster oven. Don't think it smelled to good. My poor mom had to eat it.

Your poor mom must have been like 'It was absolutely delicious son. In future, never ever step into the kitchen.' :D

I don't think I had many disasters while cooking. Maybe it is because I haven't cooked much or maybe it is because I am expert cook.

This one time I decided to make grilled chicken topped with cheese, eggs and herbs. It sure looked good in the picture. But that was not how it turned out. The batter was all over the griller tray except on the chicken. We had to scrape the mix off the tray and eat it with the chicken. :D
