interesting I do no contact dates and dont let anyone hold me for too long cos Im not anyones baby.
dates are meant to be fun and not occasions where you cling to somebody like a limpet...all dates have to come to an end. Thats why its a 'date' and and not a 'week'.

If I had a dream from the Lord I would hold on to that dream and not try and push it.
not that I am really dating anybody at the moment its just I dont really want to go out at all. And nobodys asking me so if you dont get asked you just dont go. even if you get asked you can just say you dont want to go.

I thnk theres a huge difference between single people that date and those who desperately want to marry that date. I find the latter really uncomfortable to be around and avoid them cos they are always hinting about moving in with you and stuff like that and not even respecting your space. Its like the job interviewers asking where do you see yourself in 5 years time when you have done all you could to get to where you are TODAY.

Just take dating for what it is, if you get asked out and choose to accept, then enjoy the other persons company and dont expect anything more. If you are the one asking then do the same. God will let you know if someones right for you.

I definitely think when people are young they need guidance on what to do on a date as Lord knows most parents dont even teach you stuff like this, and churches dont seem to either.

I feel like me reacting to your post with “winner” can be seen as me patting myself on the back but instead I am applauding your faith! I love that you are holding to the truth. Something the Lord has been establishing me in lately is His goodness and His goodness towards me. That He withholds no good from me. I kept seeing the number 117 again and again, and eventually I decided to look up a verse related to those numbers and happened upon James 1:17.

James 1:17, KJV: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

He is good and He doesn’t stop being good. The Lord also had me read through Proverbs and the Psalms and He showed me that He is gracious and full of compassion, and that towards me. To cast my cares upon the Lord.

Eventually He told me that my desires are His plans and my prayers are in His hands.

Our best bet is to humble ourselves before God. While God doesn’t manipulate (in the negative sense) He can orchestrate events in the favor and union of two people knowing how they will feel for each other in their free will and His providence. He, of all persons, knows who will work together beautifully.

So yes, trust the Lord. Let your hope be in the Lord. Keep holding to the truth. As I was reading your post, your desire for a man, stuck out to me as you having a desire for acceptance (as we all want). God loves you perfectly, and He sees your righteous desire for love. I have said to the Lord, “My desire is righteous and intent pure Lord, why would You withhold Your hand? Search my heart.” We simply ask, with pure intent. God sees our heart, and He grants its desires in His goodness.

I say that we should all pray for each other, that God would bring to us the person He sees fit for our life. I will pray for you Butterflyyy. ❤️ They say the squeaky wheel gets the oil, so maybe we should all petition God together for each other? 😄 We should also keep in mind, He is for us. It doesn’t take much to convince the Lord, we simply express that our hope is in Him. That honors Him and He honor us.
Wow Ben, thank you for this wonderful and encouraging reply. Yes, I agree, we should pray for one another😊
It's so true what you said about me and my heart's desire for acceptance❤️🙏Thank you for reminding me that I am accepted in the Beloved; what a peace that brought to my heart.
Ben, I have just been so blessed by reading Psalm 117- I never even knew it was there!! It's so tiny, and such a blessing and an encouraging reminder that He is faithful, and that He desires for us to praise Him and worship Him. I know it seems absurd, but I regularly need reminding of this, and it's where I find rest for my soul. It also reminded me of His reassurance and also that, even though we may got tossed about in this life; His Truth continues forever, the Truth that He is good, His compassions they fail not; that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him; that He is working all together for our good; that He honours those who honour Him as you said. I easily lose sight of such eternal truths, because of suffering, which is of course something we must trust Him with, because the Word makes it clear- the Christian will not be without suffering. (It will all have been worth it one day, and I know that God uses difficulties sometimes, to refine me and get my attention about some things that I need to repent of or release to Him; or even to draw me closer to Him, reminding me I depend totally on Him; all of which is ultimately a blessing).
I am reminded now, of the lyrics of the hymn, Leaning on the everlasting arms😊

He is our all in all isn't He.... He hears our cry... and what a blessedness, a joy divine and a peace is ours in Him...thank you Lord🙏

Thank you for encouraging me, brother; I just needed encouraging today.
Bless you 🦋

Wow, thank you for having me reread Psalm 117. In my searching for the significance of 117 (having seen it keep coming up) I did see this Psalm, read it, and kept looking for another verse related to the number. I actually like both verses.

I don’t think I gave Psalm 117 an adequate taking in, its truths are so applicable. I like your observations of it and I agree, its a wonderful reminder that God is worthy of praise, His merciful kindness is towards us (He is good; there it is again!) and His truth endures forever. That truth is so important to our peace. The enemy can shoot fiery darts at us putting into question the goodness of God, but we must hold to that unchanging truth of God’s faithfulness and merciful kindness.
