I dont think being King is an easy role and something you can just handover if you dont like it.

I guess many people dont really undertand what it means, even though in the Bible there are all these books about Kings for our edification.

Also as Prince William is of age it is not likely that if something happens to Charles,
God forbid, that Camilla will take over the monarchy. Shes not so crass as that.
Law prohibits Camilla. William is first in line to the throne after Charles.

You have to be born into royalty lineage you can not marry into it.

Its not law, its just the way it is. You can be influential though and if you do something honorable the Crown can honour you with a title.

This is what investitures are all about.

Chuck will be OK for a few years until he hands the reigns over to Willie.
maybe King Charles will be apolitical and just get on with being King, whatever that entails. If hes lucky he will get 2 decades as King.

I read several years ago that the queen hosted and attended public events around something like 325 days out of the year. And she often attended more than one in a day. That means she hardly ever had a day off or time off and most of what she did was for charities. This is what Charles will be doing as king.

I found out that we are having a public holiday Monday 26th for the Queens funeral/memorial, though that is my day off anyway.

Also, we no longer need to wear masks, the mandates have been dropped.

Otherwise the amazing thing I learned is it costs $30 for an uber from my place into town. But if driving into town in own car, it costs $12 for parking for the night so, its still cheaper to go in your own car, even with cost of petrol to factor in. That is if the car parks are not all full.

So I dont really know what the big deal is about Uber. If you dont have a car maybe its cheaper than a taxi but not much.

It wasn't today, but I learned that when you adjust the clutch on a truck, it also adjusts the clutch brake, and vice versa.

Something I should've known a long time ago.

Yesterday I found a few ways to NOT make caramel candies.

Today I hope to find a way to make them. I got a 25 pound bag of sugar and a lot of tenacity.
