I think, both men & women are visual beings, until they become new creations in Christ. It is when we are filled with the holy spirit that we are blessed with the ability to discern things and differentiate, what every word means in terms of God and in terms of the world. Because God's ways are different from that of the world.
What is "beautiful" or "gorgeous" to the world, might not be what God evaluates the same to be. He well knows that to us humans, it is the external & visually appeasing aspects of a person, that matters for the most part. And mind you, we will be disappointed if we evaluate things in terms of the world's perspective/ pov. We are called to be different and so if we ever find ourselves disappointed over such things, it's kind of a wake up call for us to snap out of it, ponder over his word and align our thoughts with his, through the help of the holy spirit.
We are all gorgeous, beautiful & amazing creations in him and we just need to trust him, when he says that his creation is "good". (And it is good, indeed)
I'm not sure if you've referred to the word "gorgeous" here more in terms of beauty or in terms of the hotness quotient in a woman, the sex appeal etc. If it's the latter, I don't think we even need to get to discussing the same, as I believe that falls purely into the arena of external charm. (Because I believe sex appeal is more than just a sexy body. It's more the confidence and the attitude with which, one chooses to consciously flaunt the same, more for the wrong reasons & very rarely for the right ones, if at all there are any) Proverbs 31:30 says, charm is deceitful & beauty (of that kind) is vain.
But 1 Samuel 16:7 & 1 Peter 3: 3-5, gives us a good understanding of the beauty of the God kind. From what I gather, the
God kind of beauty for a woman is held by someone - filled with the holy spirit, is gentle, compassionate & filled with virtues.
And ofcourse external beauty is a gift in itself and every man & woman, would love to have that. I don't condemn it at all, as long as the person is led by the Holy Spirit. Because in a world that's fallen into sin, it is very easy for the devil to use external beauty as a tool to both deceive and get deceived by others (consciously or unconsciously). Just the way, the devil uses people who ponder over thoughts of the world's perspective of beauty & consider themselves average or not good looking, become victims of inferiority complex, sometimes depression, self pity & resentment. Thus it's only & only his spirit, that can deliver us from these complexities and make us love ourselves for whoever & however we are in Christ.
