I'm hoping to get a project done on one of the vintage Kenmore sewing machines that my Dad gave to me. I wished that someone took time to teach me and help me develop an interest in sewing as a boy. I did some hand stitching to practice for suturing animals in surgery, but got the wrong idea that machines were just for mothers.
Boys took shop and used shop equipment and the girls took home economics and learned to sew.
An old Italian let me know of the manly skill set of tailoring. The world renowned Taylor's are Italian men. Now to think about it, when I rented tuxedos, it was an Italian guy who did the measurements and hemming.
So now I have an awesome collection of personal camo and various technical fabrics for making my own gear and for others when time permits.
That's fun work. But a man's work is never done and I have a list of other things that I need to complete first. I never get bored.
