Let's see I tell people I'm on about my 4th career path now, but the things I have done:
Right out of college I took a job as a civilian employee of the US Army for the office that buys special operations aviation helicopters (got a security clearance and everything).
I was miserable there so I moved back home and started substitute teaching (oh the horror)
That led to a position as a one on one tutor for students who were from non-English speaking homes.
Then I became a professional globetrotter in the voluntourism industry and travelled around the world.
I spent several years bouncing between those three jobs.
I also spent about 6 weeks working for a local Geothermal system company (heat pumps) who thought that they were starting a very busy busy season but the "start" turned out to be the entire busy season so they really didn't need me.
Then there was the whole property tax mess which led to about a year and a half of walking around measuring all the houses (barns, sheds, and assorted other property improvements) in the county.
And now I'm living overseas learning a foreign language and trying to facilitate a story translation project which should last about another year, then I may have to figure out what I'm going to do with my life (again).
