I use lotion continuously, several times a day, whether my hands are cracked or not, in every season.

It's just that a good portion of my work day involves opening, emptying, and breaking down cardboard boxes so no matter how good the lotion, it doesn't last all that long and reapplication can't get in the way of productivity.

We don't have flu shots in India. Unless the Government feels that there is a possibility for an epidemic to break out (SARS, H1N1, bird flu, etc.), there is absolutely no procedure to take flu shots. And still, despite being in a highly populated country, and living in a polluted environment, I have been fine (by God's mercy!). :)

Even some doctors feel that by not giving yourself too much of medication, you are actually allowing your body to fight on its own - that could strengthen your immune system.

I never get the shot. And I never get the flu. I might get a 24 hour stomach bug once in a while, but I don't get the flu.

Whether the flu shots are good or bad I do not know. But I never bother with them.

I usually don't get the flu shot but my work made me get it this year. I got sick a day after getting it and was out of work for two days. I will never get the shot again lol

I hope to travel abroad again someday as well... and won't mind getting all the necessary vaccinations then. Keep us posted on how things go!
No flu shot yet. Doc recommended I hold off on that one for a later visit since I got 4 vaccines all at once yesterday....polio booster, hep b booster, hep a, tetanus....but I'm also now due for flu, rabies, typhoid, yellow fever, and my doc recco'd against malaria vaccination and opting for pills as an alternative due to a lot of reported side effects on the shot. I was ready to just get everything done all at once, but they have to stagger some of them into several shots.
Also, interestingly enough, apparently there is a nationwide shortage on the yellow fever vaccine right now.....the hope is that it can be secured within a few months, but we'll see.

I'm going to be immune against all the things!! It was actually a fun appointment, my doc went into a lot of graphic tangents on how to contract some diseases and local cases of illnesses that you don't normally run into anymore. (There's a sick part of me that thrives on gross, graphic stories.)

I love reading about natural remedies for things, and pretty conscious about what my diet and the composition of skin/hair/body products, and usually willing to experiment with a lot of things for the sake of seeing what happens, but my attitude on vaccines are that the benefits of immunization usually outweigh the risks of the disease.

Also, anyone here ever seen Afternoon of a Faun, about ballerina Tanny LeClercq? (it's on netflix, good documentary - watch it!) she had a chance to get a polio vaccine, at the last minute decided to hold off on the shot before going on a tour, contracted polio during the trip, became paralyzed, and never danced again. Not implying by any means that that is a common scenario, but it's crazy how one tiny little decision really changed the course of her entire life.

I always remember that girl that made national headlines in the news, she got that flu shot like 4-6 years ago, can't remember how long ago it was, but she ended up with some sort of disease that left her muscles all locked up and she could hardly walk or move her arms.

It's somewhere on youtube I'm sure, but yeah...I uh..kinda' can't forget that

Maybe the nurse injected it wrongly...hit a nerve or something, thats why asiprate before injecting is a must.

And well...getting flu shots is good, prevention is better than cure, ive given number of patients so far no one complained, Thanks God.

"two different strains of human diploid cell cultures made from fetuses have been used extensively for vaccine production for decades. One was developed in the United States in 1961 (called WI-38) and the other in the United Kingdom in 1966 (called MRC-5)." http://www.abort73.com/abortion_facts/vaccines_and_abortion/ " Because the pharmaceutical industry perceives public acceptance of the current vaccines, they continue to utilize both existing and new aborted fetal sources for vaccine development. The latest is a new fetal cell line, PER C6, created by Dutch pharmaceutical, Crucell, NV. This cell line uses the retinal tissue of an 18-week gestation baby, created specifically for vaccine development." | K.N.O.W. Vaccines | Vaccines from Abortion: The Hidden Truth |
