Love is sacrifice. Love is a choice. No greater love has a man then when he lay down his life for another. Love is the most important act we can engage in and love is what we need to show more of every day. Love is feeding the hungry. Love is comforting the brokenhearted. Love is listening to other people's problems. God said that He is Love, so Love is, therefore, the meaning of life.

Love is...

-Sacrificing your only son so that others can live forever
-standing up for eachother in difficult situations
-caring about strangers as if they were family
-praying for our enemies
-crying for people we don't know
-Our children

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Hey Sweety!

good question, as you can see, you've gotten many responses...
what is love to me? here I go with my two cents again:

Love is hugging my son, even though he's crabby and just hurt my feelings by raising his voice at me...I have to encourage him to be respectful, but let him know that I love him, regardless of his short comings.
Love is accepting my daughter, even though she's piercing her beautiful face left and right...I have to accept her for who she is and realize that she's 19 years old and needs to make her own decisions, even though I may not agree with her, I still love her.
Love is forgiving their Dad who just called me a "Bible Thumper" because I love, believe in, and want to talk continously about God...he doesn't understand what it's like to be in a relationship with Jesus, so even though he upset me, I still pray for him to find God, like I have...
Love is forgiving, accepting, and continuing to pray for those who may not understand you...
Love is GOD...
as far as what do I look for in a person?
I'm trying to focus on my growth as a Christian woman, so even though I feel lonely at times, I'm sticking to God for now as my life partner, but supposing I get to the point where I do want someone, he'd have to have the following qualities:
He would be someone who shares the passion for Christ that I share...
He would have to be gentle, have a good humor, not have a violent bone in his body...
He would have to make me laugh, and consider my silly jokes funny, too...
He would have to sit with me through "The Golden Girls" marathons...he would just have to...and like to...
He would be kind to my children, to my Mom, and get along with my ex...(even though that last one may be hard to do at times)...
He would also have to be nice to my chat room buddies (right Belgian??? ;)
Oh, and he would have to love music, prefferably Christian contemporary music, and we would play the guitar together while we worship...
hmmm...I don't think this guy exists, this is quite an impossible list to fill...so I'll just hang out with my Chat buddies and get my jollies from my kids, and most importantly, God...oh, yes, and my chat room friends... :)

Luv u Joey!!!!! :)

there are lots of different types of love, family love, friend love, partner love, God love. I would say an important part of all of them is faithfulness and commitment. In a relationship, I would look for someone who, if they were not a Christian, understood my faith, someone kind, maybe good-looking, etc. you know, all the nice stuff. But for my family it would be completely different. It would be more an understanding and support kind of relationship. God is different again. God already has the stuff needed for a good relationship with Him, its us that affect the strength of the relationship more, i think.
