It is a bit of a learning curve. It's very helpful to play with someone who's already conquered the curve. lol The original is still my favorite, but I've also played Zombie Munchkin, Pirates, Cthulu, Space and 007...:D It's awkward to adjust to the different rules and features of the additions but it's still loads of fun.
Isn't this why GURPS was born?

I don't see myself as a geek, but I do have geeky moments. I have a table at Comic Con where I sell my artwork and I love the whole Con atmosphere and seeing all the cosplayers and gamers and celebrities! I don't dress up, but if I could sew my own costumes I totally would.

I grew up watching Star Trek TNG, DS9 and Voyager with my family. It got to the point where I could identify which episode it was within three seconds of the opening scene and would watch it anyways... (face palm) But really... most people like Star Trek. It's too mainstream to be considered geeky, same with Star Wars. It only gets geeky when people take it to the next level.

I used to be an anime fan... but the extent of that was Sailor Moon and Pokemon. I was too young and broke to buy any videos from other series, but I did research some and liked to draw the characters. Right now the only anime-ish stuff I'll watch are Studio Ghibli films, which I love. I love cartoons in general but my excuse is that I'm a cartoonist and I'm allowed to watch cartoons for educational purposes

The only video games I like involve racing, dancing or questing... namely the Zelda series.

And after reading what I wrote I'm allowing you guys to punch me in the face.

I love Tintin (don't we all? :p). I've been a fan since I was 7 years old. I own all 24 Tintin adventures, plus several French editions. I have 14 non-fiction books about Herge (his creator) and Tintin. One of them is entirely in French and I don't speak one word of the language. I hope to translate the French book (eventually) using online translating software. I dressed up as Tintin for my 21st and as Captain Haddock for the movie release (late 2011). I created a Tintin doll for Textiles class in high school. I created a couple different Tintin T-shirt print stencils and designs for Visual Arts. When we drew still life drawings in Art, I would always get told off for including Tintin in my drawings. :)
If you would like, I can help with that translation. Once upon a time I lived in France and was a translator... :)

So far, it seems I am geek in ways that are quasi unique... most of which I didn't bother to post.

I am embarrassed to even say this.. I was a forum moderator and a global moderator for a roleplaying game server for a few years, some of my friends speak an offshoot of elvish(Not Tolkien) and I'm well versed in Elizabethan language.

Yeah Magic rules can just get nasty... Nothing compared to Munchkin. Catlynn do you play?

- Probably more useful than Latin. (I don't speak that)

I used to a long time ago. It was lots of fun. We had a little group of people who played it in a nearby comic book store. ^_^

I've never thought of myself as a geek.

But I have had some other people bring it to my attention.

: )

Munchkin! For those who don't want to get too involved in something like D&D.

Okay I feel less geeky now! But who here goes to anime conventions? I used to go to one but then outgrew it. Comic Cons are more my speed.

Anime conventions are toooooooooooo intense for me. LOL the people are a bit more, shall we say into it,than your regular Comic Con type.
