I have...never heard of someone as being "crunchy", be it in real life or here on CC. I guess I'm out of the loop.

My favorite crunches are crunchy leaves and the crunch of stepping on fresh snow. :D

I don't know. To me, if something is 'crunchy' it tastes good and has great texture. I know a couple of our dear sisters here have been referred to as 'crunchy' but we shouldn't eat our family members, no matter their crunchiness.

*giggles*

"what the hee haw"

Gets me every time.
*Disclaimer*

I have to admit that I started using "What the hee haw!" because at the time I was using much stronger phrases... and this was my way of trying to "curb" a bad habit. My parents are VERY averse to swearing in any form ("gosh" and "gee" are not allowed in their house) and so the "strongest" 4-letter word I used as an adolescent was "d-r-a-t."

Somewhere along the line I wound up going in the opposite direction... (With my closest friends, I just let it all go and am grateful they let me do so.)

Picking up lines like "hee haw" is a way to try to keep me from going over the edge... and yet amusing myself at the same time.

One of my teachers did this, because someone said something to him about his mouth, haha. He had this one euphemism that really made me giggle, he would say something like "...and I didn't even want the bing-diddly thing in the first place!"

He! I had a biology teacher that called me a lower primate. It was late March before I took offense.

'Crunchy' is all about food for me. Like a well-toasted foot-long sub has a slightly crunchy bread. The crust of a pizza is crunchy (so I don't eat it). A cookie or a biscuit is crunchy.

I also love the sound of stepping on dry leaves. They go "crunch .. crunch" under your shoes.

Some humans were called crunchy. I don't know that because I haven't eaten humans .... yet.
Somebody called unwashed underwear crunchy.. gross.

I...actually snorted at that.

Sometimes instead of laughing, I just snort, and laugh after. Kudos to you for instigating that.

Bahaha! I haven't been on here in ages and I decided to come back and this is the first thread that sparked my interest! I was just about to reply with, "me!" When I saw this, Shour. :p
I'm fairly certain that, if I lived alone and how I wanted, I may scare everyone away. I used cloth diapers for my daughter when she was a baby, I hate using ANY chemicals in cleaning or bathing products, I prefer organic produce (which I grow a lot of myself), I drink raw cow's milk, I don't believe in vaccinations as a whole, I made my own deodorant for a while, I use natural toothpaste without fluoride, I shy away from processed foods, I go the homeopathic route for curing most illnesses that crop up, and I love it all! With that being said, I try to not have a snooty attitude about it or preach at people who don't choose to live the way that I do and if I go to someone else's house, I happily eat what I'm served. I started going down the crunchy road because I believe that God gave us everything we need to be able to heal and take care of our bodies and the closer I can stay to His creation, the better off I am. :) and I shower regularly....and shave my legs.... ;)

well, i aim for the snooty attitude as much as possible, otherwise how will everyone else know they're wrong??? ; p

i admire your determination to do things in the way that you feel convicted to live, but without a desire to push it on others. occasionally, i will struggle with that, because i can be a big-time proselytizer of anything i'm super excited about--or something new and cool. my friends can testify to this! haahaahahaa.

as to your list, i am more into eastern medicine than i am homeopathic (though i love my arnica montana!) but i don't reject all conventional medicine. i just pick and choose much based upon a "risk to reward" sort of viewpoint, and try to avoid what i feel is superfluous or can be better remedied.

i also try to eat clean and simple, more than processed and stripped of nutritional value, such as low-glycemic and making things from scratch rather than purchasing a lot of ready-made things. i drink a couple protein shakes a day, since i have trouble getting enough in, and i do take a small handful of supplements that i listed in this thread.

a lot of what people have called me "crunchy" over is really my appreciation for doing things myself. i think there is an elegance to creating your own food, with care and deliberate choice. to nourish yourself like you do with your soul.

like, i do make my own yogurt, kefir, and kombucha, but because it is what i prefer over the store bought (or i'm too cheap to buy it as i would prefer it). aside from cheese, i sort of avoid bovine dairy. the rest is either coconut or goat, because that's what i prefer.

that said, i'm not an extremist, and a big fan of the 80/20 rule in life. meaning, i'm ok with falling short on my ideals some of the time, especially when something more prohibitive exists. i certainly don't eat healthy all the time, and i have no problem eating lean cuisine when i'm too busy (or lazy) to cook and will drink chocolate milk every time i go on a road trip. because it's tradition. : )

thanks for sharing that, by the way. i'm glad you're back. : )

You may be dating a chip if the word crunchy is being thrown around.
