I appreciate the clarification. Maybe I missed the part where there was an explanation that he was trying to wake her up? When I watched the film, it appeared that she had drowned or that he had actually drowned her... I had tried to find an online explanation of that scene... so, I guess this clears it up. Interesting movie, to say the least.
