What would be the best reason to be involved in a serios relationship with someone?

I agree with those who have said that you should not enter into a serious relationship with anyone you could not consider marrying at some point. In order to determine that, you would need to spend time with them, but not necessarily commit to being their "gf/bf". If you DO make that commitment and then learn things about one another that cause you to believe you do not belong together, it is usually pretty awkward and someone ends up getting hurt. If you agree to be friends while you learn these things about one another, it might be less awkward...maybe not, but at least you will have been honest with them and will not have given them the sort of false hope that can come from being gf/bf.

I think you should take time to know the person first before entering in a relationship. You can't just say yes to everyone who says they want you as their gf. It's like when someone asks you to eat cockroach, would you eat it immediately? And also pray to the Lord if he is truly the one for you. :p

What is love? What kind of love?

I'd say a reason to be in a 'serious' relationship is if there is a potential for it to lead to marriage. Otherwise, why do it?

If you don't feel comfortable with the girlfriend title, why don't you suggest you two take it slow.

For centuries, lots of people have gotten married by arranged marriages. Abraham's servant got a bride for Isaac before the two of them met. Their relationship wasn't illegitimate because they weren't 'in love' beforehand. He married her, and he loved her.

The whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing is a relatively knew social construct, so there aren't any Biblical guidelines for it. Be careful to avoid fornication and getting your heart broken, or his.

Guys as I already said, I don't plan to get involved into a relationship. I wasn't even asked to. The question just popped into my mind while I was deelpy working :). But thanks a lot for the answers, even if some didn't get the real question :) It's fun :).
I know most of you won't read this message but anyways :)
