Jesus.
-------..-------
O

Everybody's got something or , in some's cases, someone that drives you, motivates you.

What/who moves you?

Questions, questions, questions.

What or who steers you?

?*? The feeling of taking that next drag?

?*? The boyfriend promising sooo many good things to me, so what if church isn't one of them (you say)?

?*? Smokin' down the freeway, in some sort of Mario Andretti racing style, racing a dude?

?*? Tucking yourself into your chair for some internet highs, pornography or , some other bad drive, maybe even, GASP! chatrooms?
.-----.
Well..... Green, you, sure do hit me where it hurts. And, for me, I have more unmentioned 'drives,' but some of those mentioned mesh like a fine wine whetting my appetite with a garlic brie cheese, cloud ears mushrooms and grated truffle on top. Sorry, couldn't' resist, I saw 'The Chew' and that recipe made. :D

----
But , yeah, OK,so those things drive you , me, EVERYBODY. NO ones immune . Romans 8:28.
We ALL have things that DRIVE us badly, deceptively (that's how that sucka Satan works, right ), and, yeah, sinfully.

So, what is the thread trying to say, green, since you I see are not making JUST me feel guilty for my pleasures (drives)?

What?

----
Let's use a scripture verse and maybe a personal story/ anecdote how God BEAT that bad drive right on OUT OF THERE!! SORRY, but it's World Series time and oh, can THAT baseball stuff really drive you too :?

This just may be the cure thread of the 21st century, the Lord leads , it's meant to help.us all and I speak funly of this subject but it is highly serious and bottom line for me is this for confronting my drives and getting over them . God!.My personal relationship with Him and His constant, daily forgiveness of me for my driving the wrong way, going off the road, so to speak. Or, in the past, speaking, Jesus/God/Holy Spirit has helped me get PAST a crash that, by all rights, could have driven me over the edge IF not for his current tingling through my thoughts. :)

I try to let Jesus take the wheel (yes i remembered Carrie Underwood's song :) ), I wish I could say I let Him all the time, but that's not true. I have my own drives, and I lose some battles, but at least I'll try to win the war or should I say...Jesus already won the war :). That thought relieves me when I know i've failed (again). I just need to remain in the vine, that's what all my worry should be (writing a note to myself right now).

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Right, kayM, me too, we're human, we err all the time, but, like Paul said, we should strive toward the prize of whom is Christ Jesus . Along this race God created for us all to run we will have detours, roadblocks, that test our resolve to KEEP our eyes on the prize. Sounds like an Amazing Race doesn't it, complete with one Lucipher who does NOT want you to finish the race. Even worse, Satan wants you to...quit. And, in the process He wants to, like that video game, Mortal Combat, siete of days when the guy is bloodied and 'bout dead on the ground. Satan wants to FINISH you. :(

But God's power is stronger. Is your love strong enough for the one who created you is the question, and, 7dust, I don't know if Kid Rock singer song of my words because I never listen to him.

Is Your Love Strong Enough? That is a secular song dingy by Jeff something or other, Hartman? Idk , but I danced to.it in college sat. Night dance one night and I felt a pull from it as I danced with a girl I liked my freshman year. And some things happened to.make my like for this girl wane my Jr. year. Oh well, the Lord leads, but, yes , THAT is another story.

KayM , you mentioned 'the vine,' young lady. So I now mention 4 books , with one of that good meaning, of course, per parables, Jesus is the vine.

The Prayer of Jabez

The Secret Of The Vine

A Life God Rewards

Alzó, by bruce wilkinson is one for the ladies, altbough I think guys can get good wisdom from reading ladies books, the Lord leads on that but the ladies Wilk. book is The Prayer of Jabez for Women .

Jesus take the wheel.

Yes, KayM, , we sooo want to steer ourselves and the road can look so bright and panorámic for awhile, as Satan points out gorgeoeus , handsome, magnificent sights, but then as we go farther and farther away driving we get out of God's sight and Satan has us so enrapt at looking at all the nice scenery that we don't see him smiling in our face with horns suddenly poking out of his head turning red as we drive....
off the cliff ! :(

Jesus is driving my life. Hmmm, rach, I think you need to get in a recording studio , sounds like a great song title indeed :)

I love this answer!! I can say the same thing except that there's also been a lot of shredded tires, bent fenders, crushed headlights, and orange safety barrels flying everywhere, but as AC says, "We're still rollin'"!

I know that eventually he's going to have his way. If I were Jacob I would have lost the wrestling match with God. hahaha

Right on! The bad thing is, I'm so stubborn that God's had to do a lot more than disconnect a socket in my hip... It's more like I'm on crutches and then when that's not even enough, I find myself in need of a motorized chair! (God-powered, of course.)

I pummeled you a bit for letting your boy friends , not sure they were boyfriends, take advantage of you by your paying their rent, meal, billar, and, guess the good news, and, my seeing God's airbag opening up for you is that they never took advantage of you. Guys fo think that way, you know. And, not all guys but def some do. Sigh, sadly, using you for food , rent, leads them to think bigger, better things, so to speak.

And, seoulsearching , you are def not alone, many girls choose that 'drive' , abusive as it may be.

But, IF this is any consolation, YOU write the most like my style , except you actually make sense in your long posts 90% of the time and people like Vkat, julieannie, etc. often tell me I am not even BATTING 50 (%). :D

.....+.....
.Anyway, good advice ,again, for OUR driveS, rache,

Speaking of tickets for your 'drives, richcat, and, seoulsearchibg, your drive , seoul, would get you a 'reckless driving' charge while richcat, your's is only 'gross negligence' . :D

It's ok, Green, I know you write the things you do because you care. ;) Thanks for the compliment--I'm always trying to practice my writing as well but it's not quite there yet! One of these days I'm going to find a way to make abbreviations of my own posts. :D

I'm thinking I need to pare back my own "reckless driving" to mere "gross negligence"... ha..

I think it's good for us all to remember that Jesus can outrun our powerchairs.

It is an amazing race indeed Mr. Green, the race of our lives! Keep our eyes on the prize, you're so right, when we take our eyes off of Jesus, we lose. That's when I decide that I can drive better than him (foolish girl) and then I crash a wall, just to come back asking Him to take the wheel again haha.
And yeah I remember Mortal Kombat, I used to play it when I was little, I was scared of those FATALITIES, i never played alone at night hahaha

Thanks for the book suggestions :) I will check them out when I got a chance. God bless!

I don't know. I'd like to say Jesus, but I can't really say that I'm following in His footsteps. Kinda hard to find them when the sea washed them away.

Koopa, you don't need His footsteps before you, and, like it or not you won't ever see them, highly, highly unlikely anyway, but I don't rule that possibility out because God can do anything He wants, sees needed, to move the world forward toward His coming again to lift the believers into the sky :)

So, what do you need?

Ears and eyes, mostly, to see the things of greatness, miraculousness, or, even simpleness, God will have you experience so that you know your drive is rightly leading you. :)

Hey, Koopa, you're not a turtle with a spiked shell are you :D

Amen, kayM, amen. Amen = Thank you. In the original Greek and Hebrew . :)

You're on a God path, KayM, at a young age and they (poll experts) say that the chances of a teenager rooted in their ways to accept Jesus into their hearts is a very low %. :(

Now I am not sure of when you were reborn (accepted Christ as your personal Saviour) but I think by virtue of being a self-admittant 'party girl' changed that your blessing to reach others in that circle MAY be great speaker/ Sunday school teacher or ??? because I already know you are a good writer , and, I assume you speak Spanish too, and, I'm guessing that you can be outgoing too. So....the Lord leads, and, yes, Wilkinson's books will help you find (enlarge) those territories of blessing for you and, consequently, provide glory for God, as you more and more see Him faithful to you for keeping your eyes focused on Him. :)

for those poll experts, nothing's impossible for God, im a living proof ;)
I was reborn this year, at age 18 , and yes is a blessing that I can reach people in ''that circle'' when I get the chance, and yes I speak spanish , it is my native language:) I don't know yet about my virtues, I would sure love to reach as many as I can for God's purpose, but as you said the Lord leads. Thank you for your words, God bless you Mr.Green!
