Haha! Very funny. Lol. Actually, I didn't want this one, but the good, yet funny doctor thought it would help. He thought I had a great sense of humor cause I was throwing them out left and right. For an example he asked my if I had any speech delay or hearing loss and I responded with, what did you say? Good times.......then came the shot

Well I already learned Esperanto to the point where I can converse entirely in it. So i already have the mental advantage of thinking in a different language and being used to non native structures. I have picked up some tricks that make it easier. Russian grammar is indeed very complicated, but I have found if you skip grammar rules all together and just learn a lot of vocabulary and phrases that you will intuitively grasp most of it without logical grammar technique.
For example, i know many 5 year olds that can say "I ran to the store. I love to run". But try to get that five your old to tell you what tense he used, or why he said run in the second sentence and ran in the first. He will not be able to tell you. He has no clue what your talking about but he does it anyway. He doesnt even know what a verb is. Its just a matter of vocabulary and exposure. Grammatically, russian is a cinch compared to latin. Its all relative really. Russian would make a horrible first second language tho. Its best as a third or fourth.
Als, whats your native languge and how many do you speak? I will yak your ear off via skype.

Yes, grammar rules first is an epidemic. Its a fact that even people who take a 2-4 year long university course in a given language are rarely fluent after they graduate. Academic study of language and actually speaking it in everyday usage unfortunately do not go hand in hand. And tagalog eh? I know lumipad means to fly . I know about the whole Narda/Darna thing and awit na na na nawagen & darating kaya sound cool but I have no idea what the words actually mean . Im a kamikazee fan if you cant tell.
Only two languages I actually speak with fluency are Esperanto and English. However, i have learned some words and the alphabets of many languaes. Hebrew, greek (for biblical purposes) i can usually read with the help of a dictionary cross referenced with literal translations. I want to be fluent in these and started down that road at one point, but I decided russian and spanish should be learned fluently first because they are more practical for modern day communication. I also started mandarin but totally gave up on it because the tones absolutely kill me. I have no interest in actually visiting china so I took Chinese off the list.
i have also dabbled in Arabic, French, a little German. Had some friends that were Czech teach me a few words. I have no vocabulary or fluency in any of those to speak of. I love language and have many interests, its why I decided to pick two and ignore everything else until those are learned well. Hebrew and Greek full fluency will be my next two projects after Spanish and Russian are licked. I'm assuming Cebuan is a local dialect of the Cebu province in the phillipines?

go for it buddy do you have someone to talk to you regularly in those languages God provided me with a friend who speaks the language ive learnt for years but hey im still at upper beginner level but yeh so a great blessing God provided me with I care about her as a friend and sister inChrist a person as a whole but the language is a added bonus God gave me this friend as he's called me to China in the future and whats me to up my language learning Ive been stuck in second gear for too long haaha! Whatever you do commit it to God enjoy its fun!
