Haha! Very funny. Lol. Actually, I didn't want this one, but the good, yet funny doctor thought it would help. He thought I had a great sense of humor cause I was throwing them out left and right. For an example he asked my if I had any speech delay or hearing loss and I responded with, what did you say? Good times.......then came the shot:(
Hope you're feeling well, my Lady. Blessings and good cheer, always. :)

Spanish and Russian currently. These are the two I am focused on fluency in right now. My goal is 7 ultimately, but im giving myself 5 years for all of them. No more than 2 at a time, I really had to focus on prioritizing. Lol

Ah! I remember learning Spanish some 2 years ago, and I met someone from Spain who was also learning English. So we did some language-exchange but we ended up misunderstanding each other and stopped talking lol. But duuude, isn't Russian a difficult language to learn!?

Well I already learned Esperanto to the point where I can converse entirely in it. So i already have the mental advantage of thinking in a different language and being used to non native structures. I have picked up some tricks that make it easier. Russian grammar is indeed very complicated, but I have found if you skip grammar rules all together and just learn a lot of vocabulary and phrases that you will intuitively grasp most of it without logical grammar technique.

For example, i know many 5 year olds that can say "I ran to the store. I love to run". But try to get that five your old to tell you what tense he used, or why he said run in the second sentence and ran in the first. He will not be able to tell you. He has no clue what your talking about but he does it anyway. He doesnt even know what a verb is. Its just a matter of vocabulary and exposure. Grammatically, russian is a cinch compared to latin. Its all relative really. Russian would make a horrible first second language tho :p. Its best as a third or fourth.

Als, whats your native languge and how many do you speak? I will yak your ear off via skype.

Why thank you, Utah. I know with God I can conquer anything. I am choosing not to allow this migraine dictate how I live my life and allowing God to do just that.

That's interesting! When I was learnig Spanish, my ex-friend taught me the grammar rules first no wonder I dont remember anything anymore lol. Oh I speak 3 languages, (1 native and 2 fluent): English, Filipino and a minor language Cebuano. Had to learn these 3 growing up lol. Where I live right now, majority of the people speak Mandarin and, darn, I don't think I'll even try learning Mandarin, the alphabets alone ugh it's like school all over again lol. How many languages have you learned so far?

Yes, grammar rules first is an epidemic. Its a fact that even people who take a 2-4 year long university course in a given language are rarely fluent after they graduate. Academic study of language and actually speaking it in everyday usage unfortunately do not go hand in hand. And tagalog eh? I know lumipad means to fly :p. I know about the whole Narda/Darna thing and awit na na na nawagen & darating kaya sound cool but I have no idea what the words actually mean :p. Im a kamikazee fan if you cant tell.

Only two languages I actually speak with fluency are Esperanto and English. However, i have learned some words and the alphabets of many languaes. Hebrew, greek (for biblical purposes) i can usually read with the help of a dictionary cross referenced with literal translations. I want to be fluent in these and started down that road at one point, but I decided russian and spanish should be learned fluently first because they are more practical for modern day communication. I also started mandarin but totally gave up on it because the tones absolutely kill me. I have no interest in actually visiting china so I took Chinese off the list.

i have also dabbled in Arabic, French, a little German. Had some friends that were Czech teach me a few words. I have no vocabulary or fluency in any of those to speak of. I love language and have many interests, its why I decided to pick two and ignore everything else until those are learned well. Hebrew and Greek full fluency will be my next two projects after Spanish and Russian are licked. I'm assuming Cebuan is a local dialect of the Cebu province in the phillipines?

What am I up to? Well, I was wrapping packages to mail. Thing is, I saw articles about woolly mammoths and stuff, so it ended up taking awhile with all that distraction of fantastic information.

I was considering going in the chat room afterwards, but I really should call it a night; it's late in my time zone. Adios, peeps :)!

Okay, apparently I changed my mind :p.

And Agnus, maybe grow your hair a tiny bit longer around your ears? I don't find it to be strange, though. Good to see you :)!

Cramming. Trying to learn 50 new words in two languages before the night is over. Im trying to hit about 200 words in each language a week. Focusing on the most common. In about 30 weeks, my goal is to be able to understand both fluently enough to learn the rest of what I need via context in the languages themselves. Generally takes about the most 5k common words from a language to get to that point.
go for it buddy do you have someone to talk to you regularly in those languages God provided me with a friend who speaks the language ive learnt for years but hey im still at upper beginner level but yeh so a great blessing God provided me with I care about her as a friend and sister inChrist a person as a whole but the language is a added bonus God gave me this friend as he's called me to China in the future and whats me to up my language learning Ive been stuck in second gear for too long haaha! Whatever you do commit it to God enjoy its fun!
