"What's the harsh reality no one accepts"?
This is pretty much impossible to answer, since there is no way to interview every single person on earth. For the sake of discussion, I think Matthew 6:21 is extremely close.
Who doesn't want more money to buy things they can't afford? We are bombarded with advertisements that fuel consumerism and indebtedness. People are constantly borrowing and borrowing, so they can have things they can't afford. People tend to generally judge you by how much wealth you have or don't have.
We all have plenty of retirement savings in heaven, but we just have to be saved to claim it. All our needs and desires should be on Christ, not on the foolish riches on earth. With that said, I do think God would wants us to work and enjoy the blessings of work, but the money shouldn't be our main focus.
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
