Joking reply:
And I was so certain it would be a perfect match! They both seemed to be looking for the same exact thing. :p

Serious reply:
My personal opinion of matchmakers - real ones - has a lot to do with proper use of a flamethrower.

Trying to get people off site to chat is usually seen as a red flag, unless you take time to befriend someone, get to know each other and they then feel comfortable.
Some of those guys remind me of the lesson from this movie.

Christian ladies aught to know better but often "...The children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light."

"For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts..."

Where are all the real Christian men?

I am not saying this to cause controversy, but where are all the real Christian women who would truly want to be with a real Christian man?

Was the Apostle Peter a real Christian man?

He was, and he was married, but we are not told anything about his wife in scripture except that Jesus healed her mother. I am assuming that she remained with him, but would any Christian woman today?

Seeing him leave to preach the gospel, time and time again.

Enduring his imprisonments.

Enduring his martyrdom.

I am really just thinking out loud, and not trying to be the least bit contentious, but I have hardly ever met a real Christian woman along the lines of what I just described.

Have any of you?

Come out, come out, wherever you are.

To your point, I have hardly ever met any real Christian men either, and it is a full-time job trying to be one myself. In fact, I just told a Christian friend of mine by way of email that I have come to the undeniable conclusion that I am my own worst enemy where being a real Christian man is concerned. Not in that my Christian walk is just some big façade, but I definitely have cowered away at times from the full call of God on my life. I am praying for the courage to go forward, but real Christian men often pay a huge price for being real; even to the point of death.

I did not mean to be a downer here, but let us all consider the terminology that we use in the light of scripture. Being a real Christian man is no light matter, and we only have to look to Christ himself as our example.

Well, let me go back to praying for myself because God knows that I need to.

I know a lot of them.

One is my best friend's wife. Sweetest lady you'll ever meet.

I just talked to one of them last Wednesday night at church. 93 years old. Wherever her pastor husband was, working at the campground, building a new sanctuary, selling watermelons to raise money for Sheaves for Christ offering, you can bet she would be somewhere nearby.

Come to think of it, the lady I sat in front of in church last Wednesday night is another one. Her husband is also a preacher, and she's always right there with him.

I have met a few myself, but they were mostly of the older generation.

A real christian man is a brother in Christ.
We sisters in Christ need to let our brothers be brothers.

Otherwise I dont really know what to say about husband trapping. If a Christian brother really wants to be a dad and settle down with a wife he would be working toward that goal (probably at work) but at present with the current economic situation its not the easiest time to raise children or have a mortgage. Or if you happy to move from place to place renting all the time but that is always unsettling.

Its not husband trapping if the man has a desire to get married and raise a family, its only trapping when your trying to convince or force someone with no desire for marrage to get married. Thats why I joke, If your really desperate their is always me.

its the same thing for a wife, its not trapping if they have a desire for it. Parenting and family raising and house care is a full time job, its not something to get into if your not commited.

It would be nice if women in general, and not just sisters in Christ, realized that some men are just Christians who are nice. In other words, it seems to me that every time, and I literally mean every time, I do something even the least bit gentlemanly for a woman, immediately, she assumes that I have some sort of ulterior motive or that I am interested in her romantically. That has happened to me more times than I care to remember. So many times that I have almost stopped doing gentlemanly things for women at times.

Anyway, I know that you meant it in the sense of husband trapping, but I am just saying that Christian men are often misdiagnosed by women. Once, just a few years back, I had 5 different women, and 4 of them claimed to be Christians, tell a relative of mine that they knew that I was romantically interested in them, and nothing could be further from the truth. Even now, I have some really mean women (and men, too) that I work with, and I go out of my way to try to overcome evil with good or to treat them kindly no matter how they treat me. It would not surprise me if some or all of them think that I have ulterior motives or that I am seeking to do anything other than to love my neighbors and even my enemies as Christ commanded us to.

Just thinking aloud, again.
