God's wondrous creation in form of the outdoors is the "place" I go to when my soul needs comfort. Of course, I also "go" to the Bible. My family owns a farm and my habit before we moved was to walk to some secluded, tranquil spot and read, sing, pray aloud, or apply my thoughts/feelings to paper. It would vary where I went. Some days I sat by the creek; others I enjoyed the base of a tall walnut tree overlooking the countryside. This freedom from noise and distraction of man-made objects allows me to think clearly and direct my thoughts to things eternal and truly significant. It reminds me that we are to live one day at a time, trusting God for strength, discretion, and protection.

I usually take a bath, go for a walk, go to church, go to my grandmother's if non of the others have worked. There is just something about her home and her company that makes everything ok.

In 1 Samuel 1:1-2:11, Hannah went straight to God in prayer. Right after she was done praying, the scripture says her downcast face was uplifted immediately. I try to do the same as Hannah, but I fail often at it because sometimes I try to replace God with humans. But lately no human that I know in person has been there for me, they always seem to disappoint or ignore me. This is probably God teaching me to run to him, not humans or any other material objects. What we run to when we're hurting are more than likely our idols, and God is trying to take me away from my idols and point me back to him.

My bed. It's my comfort zone.. If it's something I need to pray and cry over I can do my praying and crying then drift off to sleep.

EXACTLY!! thank you GreenNnice. You go to God who is the ONLY one who can comforts you. Matthew 11:29-30 says: 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Go to church. Being by the water is a great idea too, so relaxing and soothing. While you're there you can listen to a comforting Christian song, read the bible, speak to your spiritual mentor/priest/pastor. Sing a nice Christian song that you like. Or just simply talk to God with your own words and tell Him how you feel. Although God knows already how you feel. But while YOU are telling Him how you feel it's like you're humbling yourself before Him. You are putting yourself in the presence of your Father, casting all your fears/worries on Him so He can bring it to pass!

Do you go to your church/chapel? Your bedroom? Your bathroom? (Yes, some have nowhere else) Someplace special? Do you go for a drive? Go for a walk? Go shopping? Go for a run? A swim? To a friend's house? Inquiring minds want to know.
To Him.

I usually go get subway, then go home and watch a documentary while i eat. .
If you are worried about where nods is when she seems down, then, just head to her house, she's watching the History Channel, or, if not there, she's at 24 Hour Fitness or LA Fitness, two of her favorite stress-less places in life :)

But, nods, you didn't talk at all about that cel phone suit you break out to wear to dampen your down mood, too.
Or, that '300' costume .

I take a walk and talk to My Father. I find I have the best talks with Him while I walk and pour out my heart. He is an ever present help.

I go online ha ha.. My bestie lives far away and so I go online to have a nice long chat with her, pour my heart out and get my heart and soul healed. But this usually happens after I talk to God. She has a gift of mending broken hearts, I should say :)

I usually sit in the most comfortable chair in the house, grab a comfortable blanket, a cup of tea, and my bible.

Really nice answers in here.

Training tends to be my relaxing time, when nothing else matters other then the challenge in front of me.

Though I'll be more specific, my morning runs. I usually run the same path through my town every morning, and it tends to be my thinking time. After the first little bit it becomes a rather relaxing activity even when going hard, and I find it to be the time when I can pray, and calmly think about whatever is troubling me.

After my run, there is a church nearby I tend to sit at. Out the front are several stone benches with a fountain in the middle, I sometimes just sit there after my run and look at the water (Yes.. Water again). I lose track of time, sometimes I've been there for a few hours. Either way, its why I enjoy my runs so much, it ends up being the time I'm most at peace, and able to think about whatever.
