I have no problem going to the movies by myself but I feel comedies are a community-orientated genre that require friends or family for maximum enjoyment.

Call me a geek but... one of my favorite places to hang out is...
You'll typically find me chasing down the nearest wifi hotspot, eating fast food, or taking photos for use as textures for a 3D model at your local event. Alas it's not very sociable, but being an observer in a crowd of people can be quite fun. :D

Notice I mentioned: 'out there', you introverts! ;)
Ummm. that was kind of the point. As an introvert I don't feel the need to be out there very much and doing so is a chore at times. Should I have just said, I don't ?

Places I used to hang out...

The beach - boogieboarding, biking, running
The canyons - mountain biking, hiking (but mostly mt biking)
The movies
The malls - especially the food courts!
The airport - there's these two spots at LAX where you can watch the planes take off and land and its my favorite hang out (I still go there once a month or so)

last but not least - The bookstore (barnes n noble)
Tourist and I will be in LAX on November 25th on our way to Las Vegas...I know doesn't make any sense to us either we thought about asking them to let us parachute out over Las Vegas but it was a big NO.... My daughter, Melisa said Now I would pay to see that.....lol

Starbucks/coffee shops

Book stores

Call me crazy, but cafeterias in big box stores are some of the coolest places.

Parks

Libraries

New churches....i mean if you can find churches that do services on odd days of the week, it's fun to hop in and meet folks and hear quaint studies from a church you're not used to.

Best Buy..seriously going in and messing with all the gadgets.......you can even get junk food there.

My house... in the middle of the street...
My house...was my castle and my keep...

I don't include the gym as a hangout; I go there to work, not hangout. If I included the gym as a hangout joint, I would also have to include my classroom at work. :p

There's a wing joint down the street, literally 5 minutes away from my place. The food is good, and the owner, servers, bartenders, and cooks all know me. There's a "regular" crowd, and I'm one of the regulars. A couple of the servers/bartenders will pour me an Arnold Palmer before they come to my table to ask what I'm having. Lots of TVs, and I'll often go there so that I don't have to watch the Cowboys or the Spurs play alone; spectator sports are more fun with a crowd. They also do karaoke on Friday nights, and sometimes I'll hit that up after a Wind Symphony gig ('the guy who sings in a tux').

I just stay home. I don't have enough of an income to go anywhere and do anything. I certainly would not go somewhere to meet men.
