Sound more like prison! So they are not allowed visitors! Not even their own children? Where is this? My daughter's grandmother lives in a retirement home. People under the age of 60 are'nt allowed to live with her but certainly they can visit...
I saw very few people visiting, and very few children but then I wasnt there on weekends or evenings even so, during the week it was deathly quiet, and then one time I stayed a bit late than usual on a Friday and it got very busy, suddenly all these people came out turns out they all show up for happy hour and get drunk. ?!

But I would question the morals of any place that didnt allow families to live together as families.

anyway, sorry back to the matchmaking.

Just joking. I'm not being serious on this thread, not that I can recall anyway
I'm a lone ranger too (y)
Oh Ruby, I think it’s true to say, we are all just having fun in this thread as well :)

I actually didn’t know you were from Australia - I am glad to know that I have a neighbor on here 😍

I have a proposal. What if we spoke about qualities we like in a person? that might help find matches.
For me I would say I always found geeky nerdy girls adorable I treasure a meek heart and I also am always down if they are into pokemon and geeky stuff like that but I also think it would be great if I didn't have to hide my tears everytime I watch a romantic movie or when something sad happens because I will admit I am not a manly man I am a sensitive person who will listen to your problems and care more about your well being and how your feeling than myself.

So ya I guess you can see why I never got dates growing up but hey it is what it is
That counts me out too. I'm not into computer games at all or am on facebook etc. But I am sure your sensitivity will score you some high points with the gals.(y)

For anyone who might be interested...

While I'm not sticking to my original ideas for some of the threads, I still going to use a 3-thread format.

Matchmaking Thread #2 is officially up and I hope people will have fun with it. :) We'll see how that one goes and then see if a 3rd thread could be written after that.

Thank you all for being such good sports!

Agree with The Artist and LilMermaid :)

Also, one of Eli’s weakness’s are southern gals - I can’t blame him, they got that southern charm ;)

Unfortunately for me, I’d be more from the Southside Bronx.

🤣
south side my foot, hahahaha

Me too... this place gets busy when I’m busy and BAM it’s old news after a few hours
This thread hasn't been closed at all. :) People are more than welcome to post as long as they wish.

It's just that a few people were saying, "Ok, when are we going to take this to the next level," and "It would be helpful if we knew a little more about people," so it seemed like a good time to drop the second thread. I had originally planned a 3-part series as it is. :) We'll let the second thread have a go for a while and depending on how people answer there, I have plans for a 3rd. But none of the threads will officially close.

Also, please don't feel any pressure or need to somehow "keep up." We're all busy -- just do what you have to do and catch up with us whenever you can. Shoot, a lot of times I fall behind and it takes me a while to get with the running, too. :)

This is why I need to be summoned.
Desdi, I invite (perhaps even challenge) you to do your worst.

I actually understand this. I was really sad that Riddick and Kyra didn't wind up together, although I admit there's always something... uneasy to me about a story in which the protector of a young child later turns into a love interest when the child grows up.

One of my all-time favorite movies is Terminator 2 (I almost cried when I saw how far they butchered this beautiful movie with the last installment), and something in the threads last week got me thinking about how it's also one of my favorite "love stories."

The T-800 Terminator's sole purpose and programming in life is to destroy, but yet is redirected to protect a human child with whatever it takes, even if it means losing its own life. One of my favorite scenes in the movie is when the boy's mother, Sarah, reasons to herself that the Terminator is a perfect father for her son, because "in an insane world, this was the sanest choice."

Not only does the Terminator fulfill his mission in protecting this family, he also learns to value humanity so much that he's willing to sacrifice himself in order to help ensure their survival -- something that goes against the very core of his programming.

A Hollywood example of love conquering all, even one's inner self, to save others? It doesn't get much better than that. :)
