We have names around here like Tra'Quavian and La'Travia. (Two kids I work with every week.) I see a LOT of unusual and creative names in my line of work, and spelling them is often impossible, even for the kids themselves if they are younger.

Probably could never date a man more sensitive than me or a man that makes me feel like sasquatch in thumb wrestling competitions. Preferably he should also have less cosmetics than me.

I couldn't date a woman who isn't mature/maturing in their walk and growth in conforming to the image of Christ.
Oh yeah, I also can't date a self-absorbed woman, a woman who is obsessed with themselves and their problems, or a woman who has a "woe is me" attitude about life.a

I was thinking about this while getting ready for church this morning. I could not date someone in a dangerous profession or someone who did not attempt to be as healthy as possible.

I know it sounds hypocritical for me to feel this way given my profession, but I have already lost someone I loved very much and I'm just not willing to go through that again so very soon. My mind understands that any one of us could be hit by a bus or lightening tomorrow, but my heart doesn't and it's being very protective of itself. Overly so I'm beginning to realize.

Too many of us take good health for granted. We should be ashamed. This is why I'm such a health/exercise nut (except for my Dr Pepper/gummybear addictions, which I'm dealing with :) ). It's not ALL about wanting to look my best. It's about wanting to take care of myself so I can be there, Lord willing, for my son, to see grandchildren someday, and for the one I love in the event God sees fit to bless me in that way again.

These are things someone would need to know and understand.

Who couldn't I date???

1. Women who can't handle the fact that I'm prettier then they are (jealousy is very unappealing to me).

2. Women who lack humility (see answer above).

3. Psychopaths (oh wait, I am dating one of those! Forget this last one!!!).

I don't think I could date someone with no sense of humor.

I couldn't date someone who takes himself too seriously, who isn't passionate about any cause, or doesn't have respect for all people.

I guess I wouldn't find this out until after I started dating someone, though I could certainly look at his habits on it before, but I do not want a social-media-publicized relationship. I'm okay with some things: an occasional status, picture together, updates such as if we got engaged/married/pregnant, etc. But I do not want a status every week of "My gf is the best evar!! <3" or pictures of every date or gift with "Yum, Steak n Shake with the wifey LOL #socute".

I guess the answer to this would have to be - someone I couldn't trust.

Wait, I'm confused... He was trying to ask you out and he asked if you were his cousin???!!! What a pickup line... "Hey, aren't we related? Want to go out sometime?!"

Talk about keeping it in the family.
