You need to thump some honeydews to get you in the mood.
Now THAT was funny!

Roh_Chris: So that's how they've been getting over. And that's why when I mowed the yard I kept running over crash helmets...

AgeofKnowledge and biscuit: You do know that you don't have to correct everyone when you think he is wrong, right? Especially not with a whole thesis statement. Especially when it totally derails the thread. Especially when anybody can see your big long thesis statement will surely start an argument...

Multiple people in this thread: Bless your hearts, I thought I was the only single christian these days who didn't want to have kids. I am very glad to read the last few dozen posts.

And back to the topic of this thread... "Because I haven't found a single lady yet that I think I want to marry." That's... well, that's really the only reason I have to give. *shrug*

That is a very good reason. You said that you haven't found, that means that you have been searching.

Eh... keeping a passive eye out, not actively searching. Like when you're driving along on a long car trip and you happen to see a restaurant that looks interesting, you might stop. Not like if you're deliberately looking for a restaurant because you're half starving.

You just said something profound about prospective relationships. I am most impressed.

look them in the eye and say with a dead pan expression, "because your parents are still married; that would be bigamy." watch them squirm.

Or how about, "Oh, I didn't realize it is still LEGAL for me to marry someone of the opposite gender who believes in the same God I do!"

yeah, but it wouldn't work with the only people that really ask me this question... the 70+ year old ladies at church who just know I'm "a catch."

A catch? Are they trying to catch you themselves, or just trying to hook you so a young lady they know can reel you in?

Speaking of which... quote for the day: "I really hated it when I attended someone's wedding and these little old ladies would pinch my cheek and cackle, "You're next!" They stopped doing it though, when I started doing the same thing to them at funerals..."

The old ladies do that in India, even today. Maybe if I forward this quote to the old ladies who do that to me, they will get the hint .... :D

I'm a guy you know? The parents of some of my girl friends have created their profiles on matrimonial sites. Looks like the parents want to get their daughters married off ASAP.

I shared correct information relevant to the discussion. Then I was criticized for sharing correct information. I chose to maintain my position because it's a correct position and relevant to the discussion. The conflict was amicably resolved largely because the other party exercised wisdom which I commend him for doing.

If only you had...

If observing this causes you discomfort; you can choose to ignore it, put people on ignore using the forum's ignore feature, avoid discussion forums, etc...

But what you chose to do was target me (while ignoring the other party and also ignoring that I wasn't correcting anyone but responding to someone who was attempting to correct me) and you did it in the form of a complaint laying the groundwork for a potential argument between us.

So not only were you off base that I was the one who started the "correcting" but you singled me out for your complaint and acted hypocritically in telling me not to do something that you yourself are doing. I suggest you both apologize and take Jesus's advice:

^ Use both hands... lol.

AgeofKnowledge, I don't think that Lynx intended to offend you in any way or single you out as it was not just addressed to you. Now, let me make myself clear in my response to you, you have given your interpretation and your opinions on the topic, like everyone else has and we respect that but we don't agree with it.

Ecclesiastes 7:21-22
Do not take to heart all the things that people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. Your heart knows that many times you yourself have cursed others.

I would like to apologise in advance if I have offended you in any way, as this is not my intent but this thread was created for people to give reasons as to why "they are still single" not give reasons as to what "you think the cause is for everyone else's single status".

Have a blessed day my brother:)

I agree...The defensive mode is stressful. This is not a battlefield nor the bible discussion forum. Try to relax, not everyone is out to get you. If others dont agree with you, you dont need to explain anything.
