Many things!! 😁😁 Lots of great nostalgia from music and Christmas movies, and I can’t lie and say I don’t enjoy getting presents. But I also gotta say I adore the family time.

I love Christmas because of all the good memories of family time. 💗

I love Christmas, the family gatherings, the food, the music, the warm cozy feelings, and the reminder to enjoy what time we have with loved ones.

I like that Jesus was born and hearing the story over and over.

My own birth is not nearly so special. I was just born in a hospital, mum had already my sister so I wasnt really a miracle, and no angels announced my birth either. Also, I had juandice so a few hours after being born I turned yellow. Mum must have freaked out. As she had no milk I was bottle fed. Otherwise, if you ask her about my birth so doenst want to talk about it much. Must have been painful.

Its a miracle Im still alive. I reckon. somedays I think she looks at me in disbelief that I was sent here to torment her.

Twenty two years ago on December 24th I brought home my son in a Christmas stocking. He had been born December 5th, six weeks early, and had been whisked into the special care unit. For weeks I watched him through the walls of an incubator. He couldn't feed and had to be tube fed. He dropped from five pounds to four. I was afraid to touch him for fear I'd break him. The worst day was being discharged home without him. I had been visiting my mom in Victoria when I was rushed for an emergency C-section. We were both in serious condition. Tonight I think of all the things that seemed so dire and am grateful beyond belief for the things that didn't happen. Today, Christmas Day, is the anniversary of being able to bring my baby home and have the privilege of motherhood. Each year I know I received everything I could have wanted for Christmas. I am so very thankful.

Susanna, I know you said don't post if you don't love Christmas. But I don't love Christmas and I'm posting anyway. :p Please forgive me for this.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Christmas. I prefer....

OK I'll ask. Why? Why don't you like Christmas and why the preference for halloween? What element of Christmas irks you? I understand not liking fake cheer and consumerism. I also see the beauty and power in the actual message and what it means. As for halloween I think you wrote that to provoke a storm of people going nuts in reaction, a touch of the troll, perhaps.

Now, you cant post in this thread if you DO NOT like Christmas;). You have to love the idea of celebrating Christmas before even thinking of posting here. I do not want any negative posts to ruin my Christmas party. I do accept gifts:cool: (jk).

So, why do You love Christmas?
I’m bored so I’m bumping up my first thread (I think) on here lol.

Hey @Susanna , you sound like a fun person and I haven’t seen you around here but I hope you will be more active.
With that being said let me tell you what I LOVE about Christmas.

First of all I LOVE the Christmas tree. The ornaments and everything in it are beautiful and I love them.
‘I love hot chocolate. Mmmm it‘s sooo good.
I love the decorations around the town.
I love how all the shopping centers are busy busy busy and people are filled with joy.
‘I love all the Christmas songs.
Love the traveling too during that time.
But most of all I love Santa clause who comes down the chimney and brings me gifts like an Xbox or a new car. Love that.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my list Susanna and I hope Santa brings you nice gifts this year.

It's the h-h-happiest time of year!

I think for me it's mostly residuals of how it felt for me as a child. I remember lying under our tree, how the pine smelled, how the colored lights made the inside of the tree look like some sort of quiet paradise... the pretty Christmas tunes playing in the background.. surrounded by gifts I was all too excited to tear open...

As I've gotten older I've tried to make the season more about Jesus. I try to remember what we're really celebrating. Santa's nice and exchanging gifts is nice. But, to have a time of year based solely on that would be quite empty.

Today, Christmas is not as exciting for me as it was when I was, say, 8. For one thing, I'm not waiting for Santa to arrive. I live in the southwest now, so I don't get to see outdoor lights covered in ice and snow. And, when I do a tree, it is solely for myself. No one else gets to see or appreciate it. But, I still derive some pleasure from it.

My daughter weighed under a pound and a half when she was born (660 grams) and lost 100 grams...

She was in the children's hospital for almost five months, and came home ten days before Christmas .:D

God is good!

I love Christmas because we Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus the one who gives us the gift of salvation. I love the beautiful lights and Jesus is the light of the world. It is a time with family and friends to give and receive gifts, and also great food to eat.
