I find cleaning to be very relaxing to me because it enables me to think about things. However, there are a few things that I sometimes struggle with especially when I am busy like dirty laundry I throw on the floor and after about an hour in drives me nuts so I pick it up. However, I think the biggest problem I have is cleaning out my purse and removing that one stinking water bottle from the car when I get out of it oh and hopefully I remember the keys, lol

For shoes with laces I always tie them tight enough to stay on my feet but loose enough to slip on and off. Did that make any sense? And when I have that perfect balance I tie them in a double knot so they will stay that way forever.

But what happens when you get home and just want to get the dang things off your feet as quickly as possible???

You slide them off... and then have to unwork all those knots in the morning as you're trying to get to work... :p

Cmarieh, if you find cleaning relaxing, I need to invite you over more often. :p I clean a lot but most of it, I can't say that I love, though I do like rearranging things on shelves or in drawers. At times I even like organizing paperwork and writing instruction manuals.

Yes, folks. My life is just THAT exciting!

Lol, I do the same thing. I think it works even better if you take out the original laces and thread them with elastic cord. They stay more snug while they're on your feet, and they are even easier to take off and put on.

About the trash: I'm guessing it's because I usually have clean hands when I notice the trash is full, because I'm eating when I throw wrappers away. And who wants to stop eating and touch nasty trash and then have to wash their hands again? So I think I'll do it next time my hands need washing. But by then I've forgotten. :(

So I step on the trash to make more room in the can.

HAHAHA - So I told my oldest during their Christmas College break that they were going to have a life changing event. Which is.... YOU HAVE TO PLAN DINNER AND COOK IT EACH NIGHT!!! Hey at 18 it's time to learn.

As to TRASH it was the one thing I begged and begged my ex to do, just to show you care and are part of this household. It was never done and weekly it was a reminder of how little we meant to him. So I simply looked at it now as I TOOK THE TRASH OUT because I care!

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and just git-'er-done.

What helps me is I set the timer for 15 minutes, and declutter or clean or do general tidying up duri g that time. When the timer dings, I stop and have a nice cup of tea and enjoy the sense of accomplishment. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Nice tip! I'm going to actually put that into practice tonight

It used to be really difficult to motivate myself to take out the trash because I would have to double bag it and then put it in the back of our pick up and then re-bag it after stray cats tore it all apart...and then bug my husband to teach me to drive the truck so I could haul the trash away if he was busy/gone...

But now we have a dumpster here, which makes throwing stuff away super easy, except the part where it's cold outside and it's hard to get the bag out of the can and honestly, we could fit more stuff in there if we tried...

I think I have an excuse for everything.

Hmm... perhaps you missed the part where I tie them loose enough to slip on without untying. Yes I slip them off when I get home. Then in the morning I slip them back on.

Elastic laces, that's a good idea. Thanks PopClick, I had no idea there was such a thing. It is logical that there would be though, and if I had thought about it I would have surmised someone had already made them. I just never thought to look.

What is this "changing the trash" business? I've heard of taking out the trash, but how does one change the trash??

Is it like changing cellphone cases?

You might need to make a YouTube video of this...

I have to tie my laces very tight because I'm prone to tripping as it is.

However, Willie has inspired me to start looking for Velcro shoes...

Anyways.. I always take out the trash, and I don't like it when people keep overstuffing it when they know they should take it out. I'm like, come on people!

Oh c'mon now. 95% of what's on YouTube is really little more than that, so you'd fit right in.

And probably rack up a couple million subscribers in the process.
