I disagree. But either way it's up to OP to take our advice. I don't mind cutting out the blood if nessecary but if sending a message is so difficult than we might as well give drawing.
No one is telling anyone to give up drawing.

The OP is 15 years old, a child. He has described having an interest in drawing violent scenes. This interest in violence hasn't come from God, but from the evil one. His mother, being concerned about his mind and heart being poisoned by what he is drawing, indicated he needs to stop it. He has to listen to his mother, and do what she says. God requires that of him.

I suspect you may be quite young too!

I agree with listening to his mother. But the rest I disagree. I am not young.

So for about 2 years now iv found an interest in drawing (Im not that good at it but I enjoy it). My favorite genre to draw is action, like explotions and shoot outs and stuff. (just to clarify Id never do these violent actions in real life like harming others or using firearm). Im really proud of the stuff I do, especially since I once won an art contest somehow at my school. But a few days ago my mom was checking a chat conversation that a friend and I had where I showed my friend my recent drawing. After that she'd sometimes give me a few insinuations that she saw the drawing and that I should stop and rethink what iv done. To be honest I dont think iv done anything wrong for drawing violent stuff, but Id like to know other peoples opinion if im in the wrong or not, because I sincerly dont know. And if I should stop doing it
I tend to think it’s a guy thing and sometimes women don’t realise how different men are to us. I have 4 sons and 1 daughter, boys are different, and they end up with a lot more testosterone in their bodies than we do! They are generally stronger and I know who I would want protecting me if I had the choice between a male or female.
The Bible tells us to think on what so ever is good, worthy of praise, and I don’t like my boys always playing violent video games and dwelling on killing and war. However the Bible contains a lot of that stuff and one of my favourite parts is when Jael hammers a tent peg through Sisera’s skull to gain victory for Israel!
I wonder what this lady would think if you drew a picture of David holding the head of Goliath in his hand to bring to King Saul.
Maybe you could start drawing Biblical cartoons; that would be cool! 😀
Most importantly though is this; Fear of man is a snare and you really only need to know what God thinks because that is what matters. 🙂🦋

I must apologise, I have a bad habit of speed reading and did not read this properly- I did not realise this was about your Mum, I thought it was a friend of her’s. I am sure your Mum is just caring about you and trying to advise you wisely; and it sounds like you want to do what is right before God which is something I really respect in a young person’s character.

Please accept my apology.
God bless you and your Mum 🙂

Is it a sin to draw, write or read violent stuff? No. If it was the Bible would not exist. If the Bible was made into a realistic series following chapter by chapter accurately showcasing the events there would be quite a bit of very violent, bloody and often sexually charged things. Which is why I don’t let my kid read all of the Bible. They are not allowed to read certain portions of the Bible. I censor it mostly by not really bringing a lot of attention to it. Song of Solomon for example is quite a R XXX type of story. It’s genre is romance erotica. It’s meant for adults.

So it depends also a bit on your age what you’re into. A 10 year olds version of violent horror should be different from a 16 years old which should be different from a 30 year old.
I’m a big fan of horror. I even have a Shudder subscription and 99% of what I watch is horror and it ranges from old black ad white horror to the film X that’s still in theaters. I watch horror that’s anime like Higurashi: When They Cry and liveaction. I watch slashers, Creature features, classics, new French wave, horror comedy, dark romances and ect… same for reading books as well. None of it negatively affects me. I’m a vegan who does not hunt or fish and spend a lot of my free time taking pictures of flowers, caterpillars and playing with my cats. When needed, I can be very empathetic or very blunt. Though I will defend myself I’m not hot tempered or needlessly violent. I’ll take quite a bit before fighting back. Sometimes i also will watch a chick flick or family film and equally enjoy it. I don’t listen to a lot of music but the bulk of music is pop like Miley Cyrus and even Taylor Swift. So while 2-3 hours of my day is listening to horror podcasts ( currently going through the radio dramas of the 1930s-40s of the “ Lights Out “ series that was released recently on “ old timey style podcasts showcasing work of the past). And though I watch 1-2 horror films or episodes a week I also am completely functional and don’t have some crazy issue.

So drawing violent stuff is not problematic. What can be problematic is fixating on violence as a main go to problem solver. You also need to be considerate of others. Don’t draw some girl from your class being brutalized without consent, or even avoiding it with consent. Don’t fixate on drawing out your hatred for others through fictional violent imagery. Those things can harden a heart.

Well its been a month so I should probably give an update. First of all thanks for the advices iv been reading. It was interesting seeing other people's opinions. Anyway, I just decided to try not to draw violent stuff excessively, because I dont want to get to a point where it becomes a problem. I also liked the idea to draw biblical drawings (minus all the violent stuff obviously) so ill likely try that out. Thanks again for taking your guys time into giving some advice.

Good choice 👍it's good to diversify. You will grow more as an artist trying new things.

I wouldn't cut out anything from your artistic renderings.

This is not your fault, but the fault of this society. But why don't you try painting landscapes or some other ideas.

For example, painting Taijiquan is a martial art, but it is not violent.
