I appreciate the sincerity on "bible only" folks. but we were not intended to interpret scripture by ourselves. The bible was complied by Orthodox bishops aka the Catholic Church and it was intended for us via the church. all this "bible only" nonsense has led to a massive division in the protestant world who can't seem to get the bible right. Why is there only one Catholic Church yet numerous protestant churches?

no one is persecuting you, im just ignoring you because you are wrong. you are led by evil but you are probably young and inexperienced so you are justified. you along with millions of other people have the Word of God so you are not equal to God. You are just a spec of dust that God loves like everyone else.

So you can't read the Bible and understand it for yourself? We need no one but the Holy Spirit to teach us the truth of the Word. God is the Word,we dont need anything outside the Bible nor anyone. That is why we have the Holy Spirit. Catholics may be under one name but many,many of them have differences in what they believe.Thats why most of them sit empty and have only a few older people attending. They are split on which way the church should go.

But how do you explain John 20:22-23
First Jesus breaths the Holy Spirit onto the Apostles, then He tells them that they are to forgive sins, and if any sin is retained by the Apostles then they have been retained.
It seems to me that God gave authority to Jesus and Jesus is giving authority to the Apostles.

What does 2 Timothy 2:11-13 teach me?
Are verses 12 and 13 conflicting messages?

Jesus meant for us to be ONE in Him, and to love each other.

Were it not for the Catholic or Universal church, since there was only ONE church at that time, we would not even be here.
The church fought against heresies that would have certainly destroyed Christianity had they been permitted to evolve.
Councils were formed to state the truths of the faith.
Just think how we all don't agree on this forum. What if Christianity had been splintered from the very beginning. What would be left for us to believe?
How do we know, for sure, which one of us is correct if we come up with different beliefs and yet we all claim to be guided by the Holy Spirit.
It's good to go to a church. It's good to have a church explain scripture. Do you suppose theologians study for years for no reason at all?
Do you think each one of us should start their own little church for each little nuance that we believe differently?
It's a church that holds all of us together. Man needs an institution. Man needs tradition.
Do you have Thanksgiving dinner with your family?

Actually if one follows catholik teachings they will not go to Heaven because there's only ONE way to the Father... only one way to Salvation and that is thru Jesus Christ alone. Period.
One cannot have a relationship with the Father thru mary, any of the apostles, their priest, and for those that attend protestant churches... you cannot have a relationship with the Father thru your pastor either!
There are quite a few things the catholiks teach and do that are extra biblical that are not in God's Word that God never said due therefore are not God's ways of being and doing right and as such are not accepted by the Lord at all. So, beware of extra biblical teaching from the rcc and from TV preachers cause it's all wrong before the Lord if it's not from His Word.
You cannot go ask someone else to pray in your behalf especially if it's contacting the dead (mary and the apostles are physically separated from this world and we have no authorization from the Lord to try and contact them... to do so is sinful) and expect the Lord to hear it.
Read John 15 for starters... we are called to abide in Him and Him in use and have a personal relationship with the Father (talkin 'bout God... Jesus said call no man on earth father - Matthew 23:9) thru Jesus Christ, by the Holy Ghost, based on the written Word of the Living God... not some religion whether it be catholik, protestant, muzlim, hindu, voodoo, or doo doo

We have a relationship with the Father thru His Word... Jesus Christ IS the Word of God come in the flesh.
