Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. Acts 17:29

That verse just said that we are not to think of the Godhead(Father,Son, Holy Ghost) as something that man devised up. When people go to see the Passion they are thinking of Jim Cavlas(however you spell it ) as Jesus. Did you ever think that maybe we aren't supposed to protray Jesus. I mean who is worthy to act Him out anyway. We read of no discription of how Jesus looked, maybe that is for a reason, but the Roman Catholic Church has turned him into a longhaired hippie.

I also know of some people who didn't go to the theator before that went to it when the Passion came out. Maybe its a tool to get Christians into the theator and then watch all those other bad movies in there.. Just something to think about.
Ahhh... I see.. so the theatre is the Satan's device.. and Jim Caviezel is satan?
And, no man should ever portray Jesus. Is that also including drama we often do in church?
Or would it be a devil's device also?

hey hey now cool it.. I am the far most of what you think I am.. So don't be so quick to judge me, we can talk about this.. okay? I totally cry at that movie.. it kills me.. okay?! it KILLS me to know that he when through chastise and got hung from a cross and got backstabbed for such wicked people.. so I give my everything for Jesus.. so please don't say that. Besides I was talking about the people who acted in the movie not literally..
So, is that mean you think the movie is satanic? or are you still blessed by that movie, therefore it's of God's?
Do you think God should only used righteous and holy people as His instruments? or Do you think God can indeed used prostitutes to make a point? or Do you think just because God used prostitutes and tax collectors, His message should be nullified?

There is a difference between legalism and obedience. Yes the pharasees were legalistic. But they also didn't believe that Jesus was the Son of God. There is such a thing as being legalistic, but there is also such a thing of not being ignorant of Satan's devices.

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11
thank you humble saint... :)

Very well said, God uses alllllll different kind of people to portray certain things.
Not saying we should always follow the hype, but just pray for people who have a lot of influence. God is allllwwwaaays in control, so less judging needs to happen in the church and more loving and encouraging. No man is perfect, it is better to put trust in God than in man Psalm 118:8 <--i think.

If christians have such a legalistic view, I find those are the ones that leave the faith if a pastor or someone lets them down or does something people wouldn't have expected.
We have to remember we're vessels, we're not perfect, and should keep our eyes on God. :)
