Does God want a man to support his family—yes. Does God want a man to love his wife—yes. Does God condemn dope and drunkenness—yes! But None of those are given by God in the Bible as a reason to divorce. And THAT is the topic under discussion. We’re not talking about all the sins a man may commit against his family. We are discussing what God says about DIVORCE.

God says if you sin willfully, after you have learned the truth, Christ’s sacrifice will not do you any good. You can’t just say “I’m sorry” and move on. Hebrews 10:26.
Why can't you say that you're sorry and move on?

My counsel to any battered wife is to seek out a good divorce lawyer. No wife has to tolerate verbal abuse, physical abuse, cheating, drunkenness or drug use, non-support, etc.

The thing about marriage is that God says that what He has joined together may no one put asunder. Who is to say that God has joined together, each and every married couple through history? From my perspective, I believe any marriage that does not have the blessing of God is an invalid marriage in His eyes.

I stand by my counsel.

I left that off because I’m not sure that is a reason.

God does allow a separation from the abuser.
How do you know? Just because it is not explicitly stated in the bible does not mean that God does not makes certain exceptions, especially for reasons that I have already state.
