I danced in college every weekend, without fail there was a dance every Saturday night pretty much, and, sometimes both nights. Now, that was secular music, not christian, unless you call Amy Grant music mixed in christian, but it was stuff like 'baby, baby,' and, yeah, anyway, that wasn't my point. Green brains don't fail me now, you're talking to the kiddies, oh, excuse me, the young ladies and maturing gents.
So, yes, dancing was done and I just knew (long before) dancing in college I was ONLY giving my self to my wife, I was WAITING ! I still am, praise be to God, not that it makes you a christian, it does not, believe in God, THAT makes you a christian
John 3:16. Simp.
But I just danced with all the girls in college and there were a ton of girls there and I just was THERE TO HAVE FUN, my heart was God's and I was NOT looking for anything more than dancing, 'to have fun,' as blueangel put it.
That is what you want to do, have fun, and, I forgot who made this post but anyway, God bless you in your dancing as whoever you dance with THINK about Christ and remember, not only should your body be a temple of the Loving Holy Spirit, you should have the Holy Spirit inside you, guiding you, leading you to the things that will MAKE you the best you can for His glory, maybe it is going dancing.
Remember: Satan does attack us and lust is definitely a hormonal thing with everyone but teenages are even more in the throes of that time period of their life, often, and, that snake WILL attack you IF you are not standing firmly with The Rock who is Jesus Christ and His great ways shown by example through scripture and in leading through the Holy Spirit and in all the power of God
The Lord leads.
Note: Some churches have policies or doctrine ideas that dancing is not right so they look down on it. That might be something you might want to look into too, but you said that you're pastor said, 'I don't know,' which leads me to believe that you don't have a no-dancing policy at your church.
