I'm not fighting it I promise. I am being good in real life. But I am not sure if she thinks this bit IS a punishment. She says its the life I should have been living anyway.

You're lucky that all that was in your orange juice, was vodka. But how could you not taste the vodka, it's a pretty strong taste. Anyhoo, be glad you weren't given a date rape drug instead. Hopefully now you can see how one lie, can lead to catastrophe.. It's understandable why mom is so upset. You could have been raped, beat up, had a reaction to the vodka, etc.. She's right when she says it's gonna take months before she trusts you again, cuz this was a doozy.. Hopefully next time you'll think first before you do something like this again.

It's a VERY strong taste, and it burns going down. Obviously there wasn't much vodka in the OJ, thank goodness.. But still it affected you enough so that you ended up getting caught kissing a boy.

Apparently, it tastes like ash tray water. I don't know. Ive never had alcohol. Blue is right. It could have been anything. Especially now, in todays world. Homemade drugs are becoming more, and more of an issue, and so are prescription meds. Some of them are incredibly dangerous. So dangerous that they are not made to be consumed, and will kill you on the spot if you take them. LSD, Meth, PCP, all those will make you hallucinate, which makes you a prime target for rape. Trust me, I know. My uncle, who is a EMT, he a kids head up so he could vomit and convulse in the middle of the road from an overdose. And when he finally got enough starch back in his legs to stand he was rushed to the ER for a stomach pump.

I didn't want to go into too much detail about what I did but I don't want everyone thinking I am totally out of control either.

So there was this party I was invited too and Mum said I couldn't go. But I told a lie and said I was going to a friend's house and went to the party anyway. Someone gave me some orange juice but didn't tell me it had vodka in it. I would never have drunk it otherwise but I was sort of all over the place. And I was caught kissing a boy. Nothing else. I know it could have gone further but I wouldn't have done any of that if I was myself. I know it was stupid, I will never do it again, and I know I deserved to be punished. I just think it is all going too far.
Ok. Let me tell you what is probably going through your mom's mind:
That could have been a drug and my daughter might have been raped

That is probably why she reacted the way she did.
I too think you are way too old to be spanked , so that is an issue you need to take up with her or someone else
.... but I think her actions are purely intended to save her daughter from potential disaster. (Parents always image the worst scenario).

After what everyone has said I hope you realize that even though nothing serious happened, in a similar situation with people who were actively planning harm this could have been so much worse and could have been a situation that left you really messed up.

But as to what you actually did: you lied to your mother so you could do what you wanted; it's going to take a long time for her to believe that you will be honest about where you're going and what you're doing. How many parties would you say no to in the future? How easy would it be for someone to get you a drink and slip something into it at such an event? How long would you hold out (or keep friends who were living that way) being the only one who didn't party? I know it's no fun right now, but being completely removed from situations where you could be tempted (like your old group of friends some of whom will keep partying and getting themselves messed up) is one of the best ways to make sure that you don't end up getting even inadvertently messed up. And in the future, if your mother forbids something, consider that she probably has a good reason that has more to do with not trusting others than with not trusting you. You will come through this okay if you keep a good perspective and don't let resentment or a desire to rebel take root. It's just going to take some time to prove that a one time mistake really will be just one time.

I don't know if anyone, has had the, head party safety talk with you.

My high school and college friends made a pack to look out for each other.

Here were our basic rules

1. If we came to the party together, we left the party together.
2. Dont accept any food or drink that you haven't watched a person prepare in front of you.
3. Don't leave your food or drink unattended. If you forget, throw it away and get a new unopened bottle. Don't trust the punch or homemade food or most parties.
4. Don't got to the bathroom alone
5. Always know where the other people in your group are.

It's more for when you are older and go to clubs and things...

I would hope at 14 most parties would have adult supervision, but I might be naive.

My kids wouldn't be allowed to go to unsupervised parties until they graduated high school.

I would GPS their location because until they pay for their phone, car, insurance, gas and rent....they don't have the right to lie about where they are or do things that might put themselves in trouble, because they won't be paying the emergency room bills when we have to bail them out.

If they have a problem or complain, I would take away everything except clothes, bed and school supplies.

"Luckily nothing happened"? Let's see, someone slipped alcohol in her drink without her knowlege, she was "all over the place" AND got caught making out with a boy!! And yet, "luckily nothing happened". I'd say PLENTY happened!! And none of it good. That vodka could just as easily been a date rape drug, or worse..

lol well I didn't know that.

Well sis now you know!! unless you make your own drink dont take it from a friend because some alcohols you dont smell or taste depending on the mix. Lemme tell you a story of what happened to me once in a bar.
I usually dont drink. I had a cola. had to take some pain killers and muscle relaxers and went to the bathroom.
I even had a friend to keep a eye on my drink. when i came back to drink some of my coke someone mixed alcohol in it without anyone noticing. I ended up almost throwing up on the bartender and my friend had to pretty much carry me home because I couldnt myself on my legs.
This can be real dangerous. So keep in mind if you ever go to another party, if you have a drink take it to the bathroom, put your hand on the glas when you go somewhere and dont take a drink from anyone else.

Yes that's what I mean. I thought something much worse happened.
