I have read this post, and like others, I admire the way you are dealing with this struggle in your life. You are going directly to the scriptures to find God's love, forgiveness, and direction. Jesus is Lord, and clearly asks us to obey his commandments because we recognize both His authority and eternal loving kindness toward us who believe in Him. Each one of us needs to depend on God to overcome all kinds of sin that may besiege us. I hope you find the following scriptures as a source of encouragement.
John 15: 1- 12.
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. [SUP]3 [/SUP]You are alreadyclean because of the word which I have spoken to you. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. [SUP]5 [/SUP]I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. [SUP]6 [/SUP]If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. [SUP]7 [/SUP]If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. [SUP]8 [/SUP]My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. [SUP]10 [/SUP]If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. [SUP]11 [/SUP]These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
Galatians 5: 13-25
[SUP]13 [/SUP]For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [SUP]15 [/SUP]But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. [SUP]18 [/SUP]But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, [SUP]20 [/SUP]idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, [SUP]21 [/SUP]envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. [SUP]22 [/SUP]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [SUP]23 [/SUP]gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.[SUP]25 [/SUP]If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
I pray that you continue to seek the Lord's will and embrace walking in the spirit as God gives you power. We cannot do this on our own, but as you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. I ask that he Lord bless you and that you bear much fruit in your life as you mature in Christ to the glory of God. As others have mentioned, I also pray that you find a Godly mentor who will walk with you through your journey of becoming more like Christ. If you do this, then you will bless that person as well as others.
