Ok here we go all you gamers need to hear this, games are of the world and we are not we are from God, we are just here for a time as a test to see who is worthy to enter in God's kingdom. I was a really heavy gamer like most of my time was spent playing video games when I should have been reading the bible and telling my old friends instead I was all in the world aka all in sin and I am not saying I don't fall and stumble which I do but I am trying to better and now I am trying to put my focus on God. Me and my family left the U.S because of how it was just bad for us and we where all in sin and hardly in God so God opened a door for us to move where we are now, it reminds me of how God helped his people get out of Egypt, they left but did the ways of Egypt leave them? lol The same thing happened with me and my family but now we are trying to pursue God . Ok before you start making excuses for how playing video games are ok and how it is not really a sin just think about this #1is it advancing the kingdom of god #2 do you need it #3 does it make you sin in anyway #4 what would Jesus say if he saw you doing what your doing. Man thank God Jesus did not come back 3 months ago I would be going to hell like with out a doubt.

Come on!

I play chess. Is it too mundane?

I play shooting with my computer.

Is it too secular to be a good sniper?

Well!

I'm addicted to test new OP and to repair computers.

I'm a sinner, then.

1.) God does NOT send people to hell for playing video games. God looks at a person's heart.
2.) You say you're against video games, but yet you have the word "gaming" in your user name.

3.) Jesus probably would not approve of video games, but like I said, he won't send someone to hell for playing one.

It is good that you are removing things from your life that you feel as though are a hindrance to you and your walk with Christ!

But I will be disagreeing with you on your statement that video games are wrong. This world can take anything and make it wrong! Video games are not wrong. The way people use them can be though! God gave us some things on earth for us to enjoy. For some people it's sports, or cooking, others it's video games. Any of these three things I just stated could be used in the wrong way, but in moderation doing these things is not bad.

Are there bad video games? Yes, I do not deny that.
Are people using video games the wrong way? Yes, I do not deny that.
But are there good video games? Of course, look at Mario Kart. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that game.

The Bible commands us to be good stewards of our time, we should be using our time wisely. If a video game is taking up way to much time in our lives to the point to where we aren't doing the things we should be doing for God then that would be wrong. But there is nothing wrong with taking some time to relax and play a good video game every once in a while.

ok I can agree with that but what if Jesus walked in on you playing Mario instead of reading the bible or telling others about the good news?

video games are not bad or wrong as long as they aren't your entire life , there are obviously video games we as Christians shouldn't buy or play , but there are a lot of good games out there. Don't be ridiculous though by saying "if Jesus walked in on you playing mario instead of witnessing to others he would be mad " is just stupid . You could say that showering is of the world , or eating is of the world, sleeping is of the world, walking is of the world. everything and anything that is not the bible is of the world ... honestly its just stupid to have this mindset. anything can be used as a tool to share the love of Christ. You could be playing video games and over xbox live you talk to someone in a dif state or country about Jesus. You can go to bars, or jails, and tell people about Jesus. Not everything in this world is evil.

If Jesus walked into my room and I was playing Mario Kart I would challenge him to a match! If playing video games becomes a priority then it is being used in the wrong way.

What would you say if I told you that reading your Bible all day long is wrong?

Good!

You are working on it. But why did you need to post it, publicly? :p

It seemed you have some dependency on saying to "reinforced" anything you needed to say.

Let me help you a bit: I have my best PC hidden in my closet... How many PCs have you unpluged from an internet connection lately?

Each time I could, I gave a computer to someone who "badly" needed one. My advice, to remove that addiction could be: "Pass it to another who need a computer"

I gave up, also, several old computers I gave my children and, since they don't have an internet connection, they don use it to learn on those applications I left for them.

They could learn another language.
They missed ENCARTA
They quickly get bored on those things I left for them to learn, because they cannot use an internet connection.

Oh!

I needed to make it publicly... I'm an addicted. :)

Oh! I forgot saying I love E-sword.net

wow never thought I would drag this much attention on my self but I see your point but it is a temptation for me and if it could cause me to sin I can't have that and I have had this weird feeling like I shouldn't be playing video games.

Now, you are speaking rationally.

Video games are only bad when they become more important to you than God. I play video games but I never let it control me and I am far more concerned about being with God. I cant go very long without being with him so i only play for fun, after a bit maybe an hour or so I crave him
