I'm planning to head to Australia during this December. I was reading that temperatures can get up to 44 degree Celsius/111.2 Fahrenheit? Is this correct, or just some exaggeration from tourist..As locals, do you find temperature soar around those temperature mark? Thanks :)
Hi sister. Yes, temperatures can soar to 44+ degrees Celsius, but that's not very often. We usually get a few days like that in Summer each year. A traditional Summer here can be anything from 25 to 45 degrees Celsius. It usually sits somewhere in the 30 to 40 range. But it really depends on where in Australia you're going. After all, Australia is a big country.

It can get hot in Australia. Sometimes it can spike up to 40, but like what realchild4life said, it's not so hot lately, who knows. But I suggest you come prepare for long hot days..... hope you don't mind the flies. ;)
But us Aussies are used to the warm weather and the great outdoors!
It's all about the outback and the flies haha

It's not that bad, reaches roughly 40 degrees.
Very rare will it get higher than that. The sun is quite strong so just wear a hat. It really depends what part of Australia you are going, if you go up north or anywhere in the desert then you might melt haha

Actually good point. One thing any tourist coming to Australia should know is that the sun bites harder than any of our lethal animals! Slip, slop, slap

I like Men At Work! :) They played that video a lot on MTV in the 80's back when I was still in High School.

True. I'm traveling around the east side of Australia. Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.

I'll be there for a couple of months.

I'm excited XD
