God doesn't interfere with free will. God does want us to make changes but he doesn't force us to change. People can always decide to ignore what God wants if they don't like the change God wants them to make.

Sad but true, I have heard it taught He won't take anything away when we still want to keep it.

Not entirely true look to the 10 commandments of Exodus. If you put anything or anyone above God and God he may just take it away.

thats why its so important to be careful not to have other things or people that we idolize or worship above God

we haven't been under the law for 2000+ years
Christ told us in Him ALL things became new
You have to go back into the wrong teaching of some churches to get back under the law Christ came to free us from, this is a case in point.

You could have added that there are consequences either way. The Law of Sowing and Reaping is embedded in the universe. Not only does it apply in agriculture but it also applies in the spiritual realm.

I would suggest its the sacrficial laws we are freed from because some laws like honour thy father and thy mother, thou shalt not kill, and love the Lord thy God and other moral laws still apply today.

I would suggest following the words of Jesus who commanded we now love the lord our God with all our heart, soul and strength, and love our neighbor like ourselves, in that the whole of the law is encompassed.
You have to go to some churches and some Christians to get back under the law Jesus freed us from.

Read Exodus 20 Then Read Matthew 15.
You'll find the law states to honour thy father and thy mother. Then in Matthew you'll find Jesus command to Honour thy Father and thy Mother. When he spoke to the pharasees.

He refers to that 1 law in Exodus as a commandment from God in the new testament.

Our freedom comes in the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary, when he shed his blood and died our sins were paid in whole. His resurrection is our victory over sins. We no longer have to sacrifice goats once a year to pay for our sins.

But the moral laws are still in effect as a guideline to show God's love to others.

Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the go to Ephesians as that is pretty much where we are right now, Jesus words are truth.
Within the two greatest commandments He gave are the whole of the law.
You have to make error to get back under the law He came to free us from.
