As of right now, I don't consider myself a christian. My family is and I've been studying it most my life but I'm not sure I agree with some of it.

STRUGGLING

Hi! As a "last Days , Last Hour Called "babe in Christ I actually Struggled with this yesterday ,taken by suprise. I can remenber as I was running to the Lords arms 4 years ago , sitting in a trash bin with a "magazine , saying to the Lord " Lord I think the antichrist is telling me its O.K. with you to do this. Please Lord tell me the Truth. Wellnow, being born again for 3 years, the Lords has given me resistance and zero appettite for it. Over a 3 year period 3 times Ive lost control and done it . The Lord has seen His own beautiful "track record with me in overcoming the flesh and sin. I cant explain yesterday but that Christ went through it with me and I chose to follow the Born Again BEAUTIFUL relationship with Him as His Bride to be Caught Up soon to attend Th e Marriage Supper in the Aire. I think you and I need to go through this togethr that if we fall togethr we can get back up together know we would not take the other down, But those voices saying its the RIGHT thing to do are Antichrist nothing else, I was seriously wondering WITH you yesterday but have been in Bliss with the Lord nfor3 years and will continue WITH Him as I have Scot (Struggling)

Slightly off topic, but what about wet dreams? is that considered wrong? How would you stop that? Isnt it the natural thing that happens when you go an excessive period without masturbation?

we all know dreams are of the subconscious, i honestly have not had one since i came to Christ. i know it sounds like im just saying that but being a christian/ believing in God takes a level of self commitment. you cannot believe unless you try to commit to what you believe as much as possible. when you do this, the likelihood of you having these thoughts decrease and as well as in your sleep since you wont be thinking about it when youre cognitive. a main part of believing is the holy spirit. When Jesus left to heaven he told us that we are now given the holy spirit. which is God in us. when you accept that and allow it to grab hold of you your entire outlook on life will change as well as your priorities and actions etc. however we are not perfect and we do mess up...alot.. but the best thing about God is that he is forever forgiving. and he will never stop forgiving you, he is waiting for you to ask for forgiveness and put your pride aside.

The entire point of being a Christian is that we are not going to agree with God. The bible is a humbling and hard to handle book in a lot of ways and we are not going to agree with it.
Just because we don't agree doesn't mean it isn't true

In my opinion, masturbation is not a sin , pre martitial sex with a boyfriend or girlfriend is, and God forgives people for that.

(This post will get gross so ladies stop reading here...)

Wet dreams have NOTHING to do with the subconscious. (It's actually called the unconscious mind, but w/e...) It's a natural physical reaction to your testicles not being able to empty themselves for quite a long time. It's pretty much a safety so your genitals don't explode -.-

hmm, couple good answer here already.

But let me expand :)

It is a sinful desire - a fallen quality.

Let me put the frustration part into perspective.

Say, it was a different sin. Could be anything from a lie to murder! But, let's say you lie about something because telling the truth would cause frustration for you - however, whether you lie or not won't really effect anyone else around you. But, like you said, God is watching. We aren't serving the people around us, nor is God serving us. We are serving God, and therefore we must do what is pleasing to His eyes. Sin is not pleasing to God.

Pretty simple logic.

Patience is a virtue. Even learning this self control now - well, trust me (a young woman, myself) your spouse will very much appreciate you for it.
So my advice - don't do it. We aren't supposed to sin to avoid frustration -because we aren't supposed to sin. period.

Also, what is the christian perspective of birth control?
Since most forms of the pill actually can cause abortions rather than preventing conception, they count as murder. The 'morning after' pill is nothing but an abortion pill. That is it's purpose.

I do not have a proper answer for male contraceptive measures, so I will not state an opinion on that.

aw man this is strange! i cant believe anyone who says they love god and live for christ could think that masturbation is ok. its not and theres enough scripture direct or indirect, to back that up. it can be explained away by excuses and justified by provisos- just like any other sin can, but at the heart of the issue i honestly believe it is wrong, it is against the teachings of christ and beyond the will of god, i also think to suggest that failure to masturbate could lead to the person becoming a...

... rapist is as ridiculous and unsupported as suggesting that if you dont go on a plane for a while youll spout wings and fly! plain silly! anyway, please dont get me wrong im not in any way judging people for their actions or opinions, i dont have the right to do that only god does. i just think if jesus is at the forefront of our lives, as he is supposed to be, then such issues and the morality behind them are revealed to us through his word and his love. ok im done lol x be blessed

The morning after pill is the one you're thinking of here, not the regular birth control pills.

The birth control pill prevents conception and is something you take every day. The hormones in them prevent ovulation (the release of the egg). But the morning after pill is a pill you take the morning after, usually after situations like rape or unprotected sex, and is designed to prevent a fertilized egg from becoming embedded into the uterus. IUD's are another form of birth control that prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg into the uterus. IUD's and the morning after pill are typically considered to be the same as an abortion by most Christians because of the fact that they prevent the embedding of the fertilized egg.

As for male contraception, I know the Vatican opposes condoms because they believe people should only have sex for the purpose of procreation, but condoms simply prevent the release of sperm into a woman as well as the spread of STD's (mind you they're not 100% guaranteed and you can still get pregnant or become infected even while using a condom, but it notably decreases the chances of either happening). Spermicides are another contraceptive that kill off sperm. I'm not aware of any beliefs that are against them, they do not effect the implantation of a fertilized egg, they just prevent the egg from ever being fertilized.

IUD's and the morning after pill are the big ones that Christians oppose because of the fact that they prevent a fertilized egg from being embedded, therefore killing it off before it can grow any further which can essentially be viewed as an abortion. Condoms, birth control pills/patches/shots/vaginal rings, the sponge (which I'm sure they don't make anymore...), and spermicides are usually only looked down on by the denominations of Christians (mainly Catholics -basing this off the Vatican-) that believe married couples should only have sex for procreation, not recreation, so it all boils down to personal beliefs from there. But if you're simply looking for ways of avoiding contraception that could cause an abortion, simply look it up online and get the details on how they work. If it's simply preventing fertilization, then it's not an abortion.

Apparently the morning after pill is nothing but a big version of the regular 'pill'.

See link: Can birth control pills kill unborn babies? - ChristianAnswers.Net

Ovulation is not always stopped, and so in the cases when it does happen, and an egg is fertalised, it causes abortion.

"women who take birth control pills do risk the chance of aborting (killing) their unborn child."

Sources are in the article linked.

True but it's very unlikely, hence the pill usually being acceptable.

How many lives make it acceptable before God?
Why should our view be any different?

Think beyond lust.... :))

Will you marry somebody just to satisfy your lust? Definitely not!!!

Please read the whole chapter 1 corinthians 7:1-8

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
