But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Not Creflo! :O How could someone with "Dollar" in their name be a false teacher? lol. Kenneth Copeland owns a personal airport.

TV pastors have one thing in common. And that's to gain views and money. One way you'll know is how they even spend these donations and how many causes it actually contributed to, especially with how many viewers they have and of course many will likely donate just to get 'good things coming back to them'. There's been complaints about the hotlines they have and how helpful they were even, some even charging when on the television it said 'free prayer requests'.

I've started seeing it within one show that is supposedly Christian based and they pretty much give reason to fight with certain other people (not directly saying it but subconsciously or whatever you call it, it seems that way). Pretty much like watching the news station.

So my conclusion: Trust nobody. If something appears too good to be true then chances are it is (and saying this with everything and anything). But if you're smart you'll see the tac-tics they have to make it appear that way and it's often not hard to find.

Paul expressed the wish to 'preach the gospel of Christ without charge' (1 Corinthians 9.18).

Good advice!

Well many seem to be doing it for a buck. Then who would be the actual 'preachers' to begin with?

They also seem to be good at getting at peoples emotions as well. That's what helps for them to even grow to begin with.

Better to leave people with the Word, for the Spirit to work in quietness in their hearts.

Trust nobody? That's terrible advice. Better to be discerning. No need to be paranoid and avoid helping people.

Okay, I guess that was a bit extreme.

But I mean when it comes to television and even churches people go to every week. You can put all you really have to this church and it would be far from the 'actual truths'. There's more of those as well.

The problem is that we forget the word. The word says not to touch Gods anointed that means even with your lips. Look folks. Elijah was a mighty man of God. Yet he was a natural man filled with natural man desires fears, misgivings. He called down fire from heaven and saw Gods power firsthand but still ran and his inn a cave fearing for his life over the words spoken about him. I'm careful not to judge or be subject to the same standard that I judge by. Calling one of you brothers a false teacher I have no problem with if its accurate. If you follow scripture about how to do it. But placing folks names on list and stating things that may or may not be accurate seems off base.
If each of them on that very inclusive list is false then why are they all saying the same thing and others thinking different. Are we going to create list of accurate teachers and post it for others as well. The Pharisees were smart scholars they just misinterpreted scriptures and distorted the meaning but make no mistake they knew the word.
Many on cc distort the word they are false teachers where are their names? That's my point we start making list it distracts from correction and real teaching. Do some need to be rebuked and chastised oh I'm sure but I have yet to be led to do so has anyone else? If so use the correct forum and not a Chat site. Take it to the source.
As a Pastor this bothers me if you got something to say man up bring it to the source but don't clump everyone in a list. Just a few thoughts

I have one major problem with all the false teacher name calling going on. And that is that it is usually presented as little more than name calling. The OP is basically a video saying all these people are false teachers only after your money. Now I haven't listened to the teachings of most of these people. I have no idea exactly what they teach, but this thread has yet to address their teaching.

I will agree that anyone who is more concerned about money than people should be avoided. Just like anyone who encourages people to give to get is suspect. But making a list and slapping the label false teacher on it doesn't help anyone grow in discernment or truth. Isn't that the goal? To see people come to know God better and serve him more fully. Not to spend time passing judgements on people we don't personally know.

This is what level of maturity I seek on a Christian site not the other foolish stuff that is often posted everyone refuses to speak out against.

Not sure on all the people in the list, though the ones I am aware of are pretty safe to say they are false pastors.

Either way, I enjoyed the rap song and it is very relevant to our time and age today, thanks for sharing!

Ya know if people would just open up and study the bible for themselves there would be no need to have to point out false teachers. :p
I do agree with most of what everyone is saying.
I can't say all these people on the list are false because I haven't even heard of half of them. the way I see it false or not they do bring people to God.(after that it's up to the person to really seek out the truth) Maybe they teach false teachings but there is always some truth behind it. Sometimes that's all it takes to make a person want to seek God. Of course a true Christian will look for truth on their own. I would say no one should depend on someone else completely to teach them the word of God. They need to seek out the truth rather than depending 100% on others because even a true teacher/preacher will mess up and preach wrong teachings from time to time. Sad thing is most people would rather depend on one of these preachers than have to study for themselves.
But that's just my opinion.

The Lord Jesus said: By their fruits ye shall know them.

Yes, we all really do need to check out and learn the Scriptures for ourselves, so we won't be led astray.

Do remember that the Lord Himself sets "Pastors and Teachers" into the Body of Christ for the purpose of teaching truth to "babes in Christ"so that they might grow up into Christ's image and be able to minister truth to others...Eph 4v7-16, Heb 5v12-6v2, 1Peter 2v1-10

Do NOT throw the baby out with the bath water!

Just a further thought on the above:

Pauls writes that if we do not know the doctrines listed in Heb 6v1-2 we are "babes in Christ", so that should be your starting point!

For all of those who are saying that Shai just made a list and started calling folks out and that's not very helpful, well he didn't. He actually explains in another video why he did what he did. He had some brothers and sisters in Africa who were coming to him with problems because people were destroying their flocks with bad theology (aiming them towards money and this life right now). His song, fal$e teacher$ is centered on prosperity gospel. If you study the teachers on the list he made for even 5 minutes, you will see he was right.

He didn't just call out random people who he thought might be a false teacher. Check it out for yourself. This is him explaining his song:

Some people confuse discernment with criticism, I have heard some people say 'its my calling to expose darkness' so they go around finding fault and tearing down people...thats not a calling from God. Why should I listen to someones opinion of these people? I dont know the person who has made these claims, I dont know whats in their heart. I will decide for myself if these teachers are false, not that I really listen to either of them anyway.

Well I just posted his explanation of the song. It's not like Shai Linne goes around talking about false teachers all the time. This is one song on one of his albums.

You should listen to someone's opinion because they might be right. If you never listen to anyone's opinion on anything or anyone, how far would you go in life?

I was speaking in general moreso than this song, it happened to be a springboard of my thinking and I didnt say not to listen to anyones opinion.
