I am creating this thread because I cant find one with this particular subject. Its a sensitive thing to discuss but learning how to cope and recover is a crucial part of one's walk with Christ. I will be frank, I am suffering from a severe drug addiction. I am currently trying my best, crying out to God to help me resist the temptation. It is disintegrating my life. My faith is failing apart along with my relationship with God. I am not writing this to be a pity party but please, please pray for God to help me. However, this forum isn't just a personal prayer request, it is a place where anyone with any kind of hurt, habit, or hang up, including recovery from all forms of addictions, abuse, anything that is a chronic stumbling block in your life and your faith. If you have any insight or advice on this matter please help by sharing. If you're still struggling, please share your experiences so that we can create a community of prayer warriors and support you through your dark times. Thank you for any comments and God bless.

First of all, you're doing the right first thing, which is prayer. Secondly, examine your drug addition. Where does it come from? What is the source of your addiction? Once you've found that out, cut it off. Matthew 5:29 and at least one other place in the Bible talks about cutting off whatever causes you to sin.

The remedies are simple in stating but do require feet;

1) saturate you mind with Gods word (read His word, listen to godly music)

2) find godly, loving fellowship (people who you can be open with)

3) prayer ( including praying audibly with other believers)

4) WATCH GOD MOVE!!! ;)
