Narnia was written by CS Lewis, a VERY Christian writer, as an allegory to Jesus and several other stories in the Bible.

Also, I don't think playing a video game with magic in it is anything similar to actually using magic in real life. That's like reading Harry Potter and suddenly being a wizard...
atlesst someone has some common sense on this thread

Umm... Just because there are evil beings in a movie, doesn't make the movie evil or bad. Lord of the rings is not christian but is not wrong to watch. Narnia is a christian movie, written by a christian, it is not fully but a part analogy.
I've told u right ? u see ,they said can't watch that movie too

I know you told me but I know it's not wrong an doesn't affect relationship with God, only a very small amount of Christians believe it is wrong to watch or read movies involving fantasy or magic. I don't think it's silly, just your view.

Because watching movie with magic doesn't mean I am using magic or wanting to use it, it's just watching a story involving it.

Playing those games will not make you a bad christian but letting that game control your life will indeed make your christian life at stake! Be responsible. Pray and let God drive your life.

Personally I try to avoid stuff that involve witchcraft and things of that nature. I actually see a lot of bad things in the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the rings, and movies like that. I'm actually surprised that so many Christians think those movies are perfectly fine. They may have somewhat of a "Christian theme" to them but there are some very unchristian things about those movies.
Get a life...! :p

I play videogames. I also Play magic the gathering and Dungeons and dragons and people say that this is part of being a bad christian. I belive that that isn't true. It apperently has to do with "spellcasting" and "magic is evil" but the chronicles of Narnia is supposed okay to watch and it is filled with magic. I also along with my youth pastor Play Diablo 3 which you in fact Kill Diablo which Means Devil. so Is that sac religious? because I don't see a problem with it.
I think the magic thing has to do with where spells supposedly got their power in ancient times. Now it's all just hollywood magic with no meaning behind it other than some impersonal, cosmic force that's not linked to a deity. But in the past all spells were linked to deities. At any rate, I'd just avoid making sacrifices, donations or praying to gods in games. Some games require it. And some people feel it's totally harmless, because it's fake. But aren't false gods already fake? I'm just not comfortable walking that thin of a line. But if it's some inexplicable magical glittery-sparkly force that has nothing to do with a deity, I don't see a problem with it because it's not the same magic that has a link with a false god.

Does what you do bring you closer to God or not?
if not it might be time to reevaluate how you spend your time.

Do you feel spiritually uplifted after you play those games or not?

Those are questions you must ask yourself.

I play video games quite often, I would personally stay away from video games that have you casting spells or having dealings with a devil. There are plenty of fun video games that don't include demonic activity.

I've played Magic, Pathfinder(which is like 3.5 continued instead of D&D 4.0), and various other games for as long as i can remember. It's not going to hurt your christianity at all.

If your not sure it something is right or wrong it us always because you are listening to others advise and not inside yourself. Only you could possibly know what is right for you! Their advise will only confuse you.

I play a game by the name of '' World of warcraft '', Some aspects of the game does indeed contain some Illuminati symbols such as the pyramid and the eye in the middle and Darwinian influence. But I personally don't take that to heart. I play the game because I enjoy it, I don't indulge in the virtual world and get corrupted.. No, it doesn't work like that with me! :)

One day you may come to a point where you end seeing things in a different light, especially if you do your best to be more like Christ. I used to do things which I now hate, that is the transformation process. I am still far from perfect and still enjoy things which I proberbly should not, but one day I may also end up being changed even more to stop enjoying those things as I naturally hate them.

You could have said that in a better way goth4god might feel offended because of the way you said that.

well, I play magic the gathering, pathfinder also table top games like war hammer and many types of video games, it can distract me if I let it do so, but I don't think it has any inherent harm.
I see a lot of God in both LOTR and the chronicles of narnia.
