This is not at all true because the earth does not move.

If the Earth were truly constantly spinning Eastwards at over 1000mph, helicopters and hot-air balloons should be able to simply hover over the surface of the Earth and wait for their destinations to come to them!

I don't even know what you're referring to :) but anyway, if the earth does not move then what generates the gravitational acceleration that we experience on the earth in a flat earth framework?

edit, oh you mean the rotation animation at the beginning, that was just to show that the gravity would be that way all the way around, it's not actually suggesting that it's due to rotation.

I would also like to know what your thoughts are on the competing Time Cube theory of the universe, discussed here by cubicist and marble enthusiast Gene Ray.

Hi

A flat earth oh that well yes it is when one of the kids sat on it yeap it was flat.

so a plane waits in the air till said place they wont to go to comes to them and then plonk down they come .

So what keeps us from floating away if gravity is not consistent it wont work on a plane surface because the fields are opposing each other and the earth is not like that no matter were ever you go no north or south magnitc pole.

so how wide is this flat earth since theres no north or south let alone east / west because that wont work ether .
now where does your sun rise from the east or west as in the States and how do you get cold and hot weather on a plane flat earth when theres trade winds in motion oh and the sea,s how does that work ,

now heres a rather simple ? whats under this flat earth and when I bore a hole straight down what happens to me then ooops no graby holde thinge and no gravity , hang on I thought there was a molten sink hole down there giving off its heat , may be to hot so ,

I,ll just have to walk around the real earth only 24 .000 miles or fly 24 hours by wind .... now will I head east or west yeap I,ll go west and follow the sun hang on cant do that it don't move so I,ll just fly up and hang there and wait till good old earth does a spinner for me okay I,ll just drop down in Tas,e for 6 weeks 1800 miles then be on me way 4 weeks to go yeeeeea..............

...noeleena...

So riddle me this batman, how did all of the people who have set records by completely traveling around the world do it? I mean, shouldn't they have fallen off and not have reached the place where they began? What holds the ocean water in place? Shouldn't that fall off the edge as well?

Well usually the model of the earth is based on biblical passages with a solid firmament above holding back waters above and the land holding back waters below, so the water wouldn't really have anywhere to flow to. You can still travel all over the earth if it were flat in Spherical's flat earth model as well, so it's not completely devastating to his claim.

What is devastating is explaining a flat world with a fairly uniform gravitational field. Even a totally submerged earth would have this problem. Spherical why do you not refute the ideas in the video I posted? Your claim it is false was based on arguing against an idea not even contained in the video. How do you deal with the problem of gravitational acceleration?

I see what you are saying now, you're not talking about anything but the hypothetical situation itself. The reason this does not happen is due to the conservation of momentum in physics. When the helicopter is on the ground it is moving along with the earth and so both are revolving at one revolution a day. If the helicopter lifts off the ground it is moving in air that is also rotating along with the earth. In order to move relative to the earth horizontally it would require a horizontal force to overcome the helicopters inertia, not just the vertical force required for liftoff.

Tell me this, if I am inside a plane and jump upward, do I suddenly move relative to the plane at the speed of the plane?

All I know is that my gravy spills off my flat dinner plate and I
have to scrape it back on.

If the earth was flat then God would have to mop up the sea several
times a day.

I guess some people just like lots of gravy more than others,
while flat earthers just like lots of flannel.

See point 5 defination if your not a Brit. :)

flannel

(ˈflænəl) n1. (Textiles) a soft light woollen fabric with a slight nap, used for clothing
2. (Clothing & Fashion) (plural) trousers or other garments made of flannel
3. (Textiles) See cotton flannel
4. Brit a small piece of cloth used to wash the face and hands; face cloth.
5. informal Brit indirect or evasive talk; deceiving flattery

You forgot about the wall of ice around the flat earth.

The bible said their was a firmament (of ice) at one time, which was a factor in increased longevity, and/also protection from x-rays and who knows what else, but that was demolished in the cataclysmic event we call the flood.
