This assertion relies on a logical fallacy. Just because we can't explain how something works in a particular manner, does not mean it does not work in that particular manner. In other words, just because you don't understand something doesn't make that something untrue.

You are correct in this: an absence of explanation does not invalidate the phenomenon; however, as you are positing a FE model, your model must explain those phenomena. It doesn't, while the BE model does.

Indeed, the faster speed of the sun in the Southern Hemisphere Summer explains why it gets dark so much more quickly in the Southern Hemisphere Summer than it does in the Northern Hemisphere Summer (when the sun is travelling more slowly).

I'd like to see some evidence for this claim.

I think you are misapplying the burden of proof here. Flat Earth is an observation - it doesn't need a model. The burden of proof is on ball-Earthers to prove the Earth is a ball, and the only evidence of this is demonstrably false CGIs/photos from NASA.

I've travelled to the Northern and Southern hemispheres. In the Southern Hemisphere, it gets dark very quickly in Summer when the sun goes down. Comparatively, in the Northern Hemisphere Summer, nights come very slowly - even late at night, the sky can be a greyer colour (not very dark) for hours after the sun goes down.

FE certainly does need a model; one which explains all observations in the real world. The North-centric model is demonstrably false. As the ball earth is far more widely accepted, FE proponents are on the hook to provide the evidence for their position. Ball earth rests on a lot more than just NASA photos.

According to some flat earthers, behind the ice wall, there are other lands. If you wanted a flat earth model, this guy is selling them. We could start a collection, buy one, and than post it in this thread, so flat earthers have something to use.

well, i guess thats true. but in subatomic particles they sometimes occupy the same place at the same time or one particle may be present at 2 places at one time or a subparticle may split but be connected over great distances. it would be neat if the earth is the same way that it behaves as round and flat at the same time. the older i get the more i think we live in a closed system anyway

Flat Earth theory is so ludicrous that I do not begin to understand why anyone could believe it. This is my last word on the subject.

All FE people need to do is get a decent telescope. If they are right, they can see across the (flat) ocean and view other countries in their line of sight. Add a decent camera to the telescope and photograph the place that you are viewing. China should be able to see Taiwan, if indeed the earth is flat. Since the earth is not flat, no photo will be forthcoming. If it was flat, no doubt China would be observing Taiwan continually and there would be nothing that Taiwan could do about it. QED
