What to flat earthers think ,say, about other figures of speech ?
Is today the day of Salvation or was that said for those 2000+ years ago.
Is Jesus really a fuzzy little farm animal?
What are the stars hanging on?
Can they describe Jesus' sword?
Can a person really have a beam in their eye?

Or, you forgot to mention, birds' heads falling off.

Gideon, I know this frustrates you, but there are some people who will never believe no matter what you say, do, or provide. Just have fun with it. I do :D
Two things: First, I hope to help those who are drawn to the FE myth but are still on the fence. Second, I do have fun with some of them. Well, I enjoy it anyway. I'm retired so I have time to do a bit of research. I've always taken the globe as a given. Now I am certain beyond doubt.

Oh yeah? How do you know the world's not infinitesimally flat and thromboid-shaped? Huh? How do we know we're in 3 dimensions and not... ONE??!!?? How do we know the moon's not one gigantic ball (or flat disc??) of CHEESE??? Because NASA -- that evil lying entity -- tells us otherwise???? How do I know I'm not just a pimple on the giant rear-end of humanity???? How do we know we even exist????

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

It can be a challenge determining what is a figure of speech, and what is meant literally. The sun being darkened and the moon turning to blood, for instance. Literal or figurative? And if literal, you've also got the stars falling from the sky in the same passage. So in heliocentricity, that just can't work, given the stars are millions of light years away. So it forces the whole passage to be figurative, when I think it is intended as literal (blood being the red colour, rather than actual blood).

are we not to understand Scripture by comparing scripture to scripture?
Gen 37:9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

I don't think they compare exactly. One you have a dream, the other you have an event (i.e. the Day of the Lord, the signs of the coming of the Son of Man). I agree there may be a link, but I disagree that we are licenced to portray real events as parables or dreams.

So you think the sun won't be literally darkened at all, and the moon won't (literally) go blood red?
The sun has darkened many times i have seen a red moon. The son darkened the day they murdered Jesus agree?

Some Biblical researchers believe the stars are political powers falling from their seats.

Most of the stars falling from the sky verses do not have them falling to earth.

Satan was the bright morning star who fell to earth...
