If God can stop the sun, he can stop anything.
But, this is only "an excuse for a reason" to wish for not having to consider the matter according to a more "stable" scenario - such as one that actually follows the already in-place laws of physics. It would be completely silly to ignore the difference between the "natural effects" of the sun stopping versus the earth stopping. What your mind is doing right now with this issue seems to be in the realm of
Cognitive Dissonance.
Before we even consider the statement you made in the quote above --- we already know that nothing is impossible for God. However, we also know other things about Him that help us to know how He does things. And - this kind of wishing-on-a-whim that He did the most unlikely thing rather than the most likely thing - just so we don't have to consider an "uncomfortable" scenario - is simply not any kind of practical way to go about it...
We can dream all day what we would like to hear --- at the end of the day, truth still prevails.
It is far better to put 'emotion' aside and look at everything objectively.
