Greetings folks, I just thought that it would be helpful for the brethren on here that I share a response which I posted to Aniohevtorah's thread about Once Saved Always Saved, because I know how important this issue is. And I am aware of some of the problems and serious doctrinal issues that come about when a Christian denies the Biblical and Scriptural Doctrine of Eternal Security of the Born again Believer.

So directly below is Aniohevtorah's original post about once saved always saved. And of course below his highlighted post is my direct response to him. Including my answer to his question.

HEBREWS 6:4-6
[SUP]4 [/SUP]For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, [SUP]5 [/SUP]and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, [SUP]6 [/SUP]if they fall away,[SUP][a][/SUP] to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

There have been so many debates in the church as to whether we are "Once saved always saved" or if once we have asked Yeshua into our hearts, can we lose our salvation.

These verses here give a strong proof that we can lose it. But it's more detailed. It says those who are enlightened, have tasted the heavenly gift, partakers of the Ruach Hakodesh(Holy Spirit) and tasted the good word of YAH and the powers of the age to come.

So the big question is, how many who claim to be believers(self included) has truly had or received all these things?

Any thoughts on this?

Hello there Aniohevtorah,

I see that from your post you do not understand that Christians in this dispensation (the Church Age) are sealed with the Holy Spirit (See Ephesians 1:13 and Ephesians 4:30) and therefore are Eternally Secure. Every true Christian in this dispensation known as the church age, has eternal security. So, no a Christian cannot lose his or her salvation or be "Un-Born Again." Once a person gets saved, he becomes a part of the Body of Christ and he is now bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh (See Ephesians 5:30).

And those verses which you gave in your thread on Hebrews 6 do not apply doctrinally to a Born Again Christian in the Church Age. Hebrews 6:4-6 applies doctrinally to a saved Jew (Tribulation Saint) in the time of Jacob's trouble. You see Aniohevtorah, Hebrews is not written to a Christian in the Church Age, but it is written to the Jews. That's why you need to rightly divide the word of truth (See 2 Timothy 2:15). If you are to understand Sound Bible Doctrine, then you must study the Bible dispensationally. There are several divisions and dispensations in the Scriptures and when you do not rightly divide the word, you make a big mess of the Bible. Hebrews (the title alone) should be a hint to you that this book is written to and addresses the Hebrews. Not Gentile Christians.

Now understand that you can learn and profit from the book of Hebrews especially for instruction in righteousness, there is a lot in the book of Hebrews that can be applied to the Church Age for instruction in rigorousness. But when you start trying to apply the book of Hebrews Doctrinally to the Church Age, then you will start to see apparent contradictions. Notice I said "apparent contradictions." Not contradictions but apparent contradictions. Why is that? Because the truth of the matter is that there are different viewpoints in the Scriptures that do appear and look as if they are contradictions but that's only if you do not rightly divide the word of truth( Again, read 2 Timothy 2:15).

Here is an excellent example of an apparent contradiction:

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9 (King James Bible)

From reading this passage in Ephesians, we can clearly see here that the Apostle Paul is telling us that we are saved not by our works but by grace through faith. So salvation is given to us without works.

Now let's see what James concluded in his epistle:

14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. - James 2:14-17 (King James Bible)

[SUP]So Aniohevtorah, which one is it? I mean are we saved by our works and faith? Or are we saved by faith alone and not by our works?

Do you see the apparent contradiction there? Again it is not a contradiction, it just appears to be. There are absolutely no contradictions in the King James Holy Bible, which is God's pure and perfect and infallible word.

[/SUP]

[SUB]And do you ever wonder why so many people say the Bible has contradictions in it? It is because they see stuff like I just showed you with the passage from James and also the passage from Ephesians. They see the differing viewpoints and they see that you cannot reconcile them. Of course, the only way to reconcile this quote on quote "issue" of an apparent contradiction is by simply obeying the command given in 2 Timothy 2:15:
[/SUB]

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

That is why when Christians do not rightly divide the word of truth, they cause contradictions to show up in the Scriptures and they make a mess of the Bible. You basically cause the Bible to contradict; that is when you do not rightly divide the word of truth.

For every apparent contradiction, there is a Scriptural solution. After all God cannot lie (See Titus 1:2) and the Scripture cannot be broken. (See John 10:35).

Having said that, it is obvious that the reason that the book of James emphasizes and teaches both faith and works is because the book of James is written to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad (See James 1:1) And also the book of James is doctrinally for the Jew (Tribulation Saint) in the Time of Jacob's Trouble. In the Time of Jacob's Trouble, the only Jews which have Eternal Security are the 144,000 sealed Jews (See Revelation 7:1-8).

Other than that, for the rest of the tribulation saints, they must endure unto the end (See Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13, Hebrews 3:6; 3:14; & 6:11) because they do not have eternal security. They must endure to the end by not taking the mark of the beast and by keeping the faith of Jesus and the commandments of God (Rev. 14:9-12).

And as for Ephesians; Faith without works is taught for New Testament Salvation in the Church Age. That is why Ephesians teaches Eternal Security for the Believer.

I really hope this helped you Aniohevtorah. And I hope this has helped other Born Again Christians on here who are still struggling with this issue of eternal security vs. losing salvation. Those that are still unsure about their Salvation and the Eternal Security that comes with Salvation.

Now to address and answer your question more specifically. I believe a true Born again Christian has received most if not all those things listed in Hebrews 6 when you apply Hebrews 6 for instruction in righteousness. Think about it for a minute. Are Christians partakers of the Holy Ghost? Well yes, don't Christians have the Holy Ghost dwelling inside of them? After all, having the Spirit of Christ living in you is what makes you a Christian. It's what makes you born again. Because you are born of the Spirit.

And as for tasting the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, don't true Born again Christians have and receive that as part of their salvation?

As a child of God, God will show you neat things which are in His word. At times He will reveal to you the special
phenomenons and the beautiful patters, numerical patterns and that are in His word. When you believe and love God's Book, He will show you how the Scriptures flow beautifully together and how to rightly divide the Scriptures. That way you can really understand Bible prophecy. So again, my answer to your question is I believe Christians have these things. And if a Christian has tasted of the good word of God, then he has also tasted the powers of the world to come. Why? Because the Bible tells us of the world that is coming. The Bible is a prophetic Book. It gives us specific details of what the new heaven and new earth will look like in the future. For example : New Jerusalem. We know from reading Revelation 21, that New Jerusalem has 12 gates, and that it has a great and high wall and also that it has an Angel standing at each of the gates. And that each of the gates has a name written upon it, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. So we clearly see from the Scriptures what the world to come will be like. And of course if the Holy Scriptures have been open to us, then that right there would be considered biblical enlightenment. Wouldn't it? Notice I said biblical enlightenment.

I say that because a lot of times when people hear the word enlightenment, they think new age. Indeed, new age gurus do use that term a lot. But the bottom line is that while the word "enlightenment" may not be a Bible word, the words "enlightened," "enlighten," and "enlightening" are Bible words. The word "enlightened is found 6 times in the King James Bible, "enlighten" is found 1 time in the King James Bible and "enlightening" is also found only 1 time in the King James Bible.

So if our eyes have been opened to the word of God, and God has blessed our efforts in studying the word of God and our labour in Sound Bible Doctrine and has given us the understanding of His word in general. Then yes, I do believe a Christian at this point has been enlightened. Because one of the primary meanings of enlightenment is simply spiritual insight. So I hope you can see that even though Hebrews is not doctrianlly for the Church Age, you can still apply a lot of what's in Hebrews to the Church Age for the benefit of instruction in righteousness. Let me repeat that again: while Hebrews is not doctrinally for the Church Age or Christians, but for the Jews in the time of Jacob's Trouble. Even though that is, there are still lots of things in Hebrews which can be applied to the Christian in the Church Age for instruction in righteousness.

And that example which I just gave to you in answering your question clearly illustrates that. It clearly emphasizes that point. But still. Doctrinally, Hebrews is still for the Tribulation Saint in the time of Jacob's trouble. We must always keep that in mind. And in the time of Jacob's trouble, eternal security is not given to the Jews or Gentiles EXCEPT for the 144,000 sealed Jews which I mentioned earlier. That's why Hebrews 6:4-6 and Hebrews 10:26-27 teach that a person can lose their salvation. That is, a person in the time of Jacob's trouble. Not a Christian in the Church Age. In the Church Age, the Christian has Eternal Security (Eph. 1:13 and 4:30).

But in the time of Jacob's trouble, a Tribulation Saint (Jew or Gentile) does not have Eternal Security and can lose their salvation (Heb. 6:4-6 & 10:26-27).

Again, that is, except for the 144,000 Jews from the twelve tribes of the children of Israel which are sealed with the seal of God in their foreheads. (Rev. 7:1-8). The 144,000 sealed Jews are the only people who have eternal security in the time of Jacob's trouble.

I hope this has cleared up the confusion over the important matter and issue of Once Saved Always Saved (Eternal Security) vs. Losing Salvation.

Well folks, I prayed that this will help you in becoming confident of your eternal salvation and security in Christ Jesus. And for those of you who constantly worry about losing your salvation, I hope and pray that you will start to rightly divide the word of truth as 2 Timothy 2:15 commands us to. And just trust God and His ability to preserve and keep you blameless and your soul secure unto the day of Redemption.

The Scriptures perfectly illustrate the fact that
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Thank you very much for this informative essay.

You are welcome DeepBluesy. I take it that you read the whole response I gave in this post and if you did, I appreciate you taking the time to read this information and consider what's been shown.

So, no a Christian cannot lose his or her salvation or be "Un-Born Again." Once a person gets saved, he becomes a part of the Body of Christ and he is now bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh (See Ephesians 5:30).....

While the scripture does indicate that Christians have security in Christ Jesus, it also reveals that our security is conditional. I hope you also notice the following passages too:
Rom 2:7-8
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: By continuing in obedient faith you are seeking for glory, honour, immortality, and eternal life.
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath. ...However if you are living in disobedience to God you are seeking for indignation and wrath.
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. One is not under condemnation IF they are walking after the Spirit, which brings life, and not after the flesh.

Rom 11:13, 21-23
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

1 Cor 9:24-27
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway [disqualified from the spiritual race].
While Paul was preaching to others to repent and believe in Jesus to enter the Christian race, he knew that if he himself did not bring his body under subjection, by putting on Christ and not making provision for the flesh, he could be disqualified from the race. Likewise, our spiritual race began the day we repented and believed in Jesus Christ and we have to persevere in this race by looking unto Jesus in faith, resisting the dictates of the flesh, and abiding in Christ who gives the spiritual strength, so that we will win the incorruptible crown of life in the kingdom of God.

Gal 6:8-9
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. While we are sealed by the Holy Spirit we have to sow to the Spirit by walking in the Spirit (Gal 5:25), bearing the fruit of holiness, righteousness, and the fruit of the Spirit to reap eternal life.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. We will reap life everlasting if we don't faint.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Yes, we are saved by grace through faith but God also commanded that we who have been called out of darkness and into His marvellous light should do good works (in essence we shouldn't live like we are still in darkness).

2 Peter 1:4-11
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Since believers have escaped the corruption of the world they have the great and precious promises which consists of being partakers of the divine nature, immortality, eternal life and peace with God, etc., but they have to...(read verse 5-7)
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Peter said that if we are diligent in adding to our faith virtue, godliness, etc., we won't be spiritually barren. This implies that a believer can become spiritually barren and unfruitful in the knowledge of Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: So a believer can fall from grace and the faith if they don't make their calling and election sure.
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If believers make their calling and election sure by adding to their faith virtue, patience, godliness, etc., they will have entrance into the everlasting kingdom of God.

Finally, John was warning believers about false teachers who deny the deity of Christ and he said that IF they continue to embrace that which they have heard from the beginning, which is the true doctrine of Christ, they will continue in the Son and the Father and have eternal life. 1 John 2:24-25
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

So while we aren't saved by works our good works reveal that we are saved by faith as per James 2:18, which is greatly applicable to church-age believers. The harmonious scriptures written by holy men of God who were moved by the Holy Spirit, and even the writings of the Early Church fathers reveal that church-age believers have conditional security which is faithfulness to God till the end to receive the crown of life.

Star,
Idon't have time to cover each point but they are all out of context. For example in the Romans passage Paul goes on to make his case that there are NONE that even seeks God let alone seeks to do good thus concluding all, both those with the law and those apart from the law, under sin.
There is only One who fulfilled the Romans passage you quoted.

Romans 2:7-8 is parallel to Matthew 25:46 and Galatians 6:7-9 and it is very applicable to NT believers. We ought to be steadfast in holiness and faithfulness to God till the end to receive life everlasting. "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him" (James 1:12). Just as Christ was tempted, temptation is common to man but only those that endure it by resisting it through the grace of God will receive the crown of life.

I don’t think I’ve taken any passage out of context but since you disagree feel free to expound on how I have erred when time permits.

Star,

I'll retract my 'all' statement only because I am not willing to take the time to go through each verse in question. Lesson learned on my part not to go 'hyperbole'.

Let me briefly just mention this quote of yours and see what you think..

"While the scripture does indicate that Christians have security in Christ Jesus, it also reveals that our security is conditional"

To this I would suggest that perhaps the 'condition' placed on us is to see our only and full security is to be found in Jesus and not in anything in us...thinking on this verse-

For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more:
(Php 3:3-4)

Perhaps we can agree thus far.

Hebrews, Only for the jews wow I have got to go be sick. Not all should be teachers scofield, darby and the rest of the despensationalist. Here I have two questions 1 who is a jew remember I have asked this before with no answers and I was cut on the eighth day by a rabbi. 2 where is the word despensation in the O/T or a hebrew equivalent I will be holding my breath waiting for this one.

1 Timothy 3

This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
[SUP]5 [/SUP](For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

What does this mean, namely verse 6&7? What is the condemnation of the devil? What is he condemned to?

I did not read all you wrote, I got only far enough to read ways you are reasoning to make God's word changed. That cannot be. God is eternal, God is your creator who tells you about who He is, you can't stir around in scripture to change it.

You say "in this church dispensation". God is eternal, his principles are the same always. God used our time only when Christ lived with us in the flesh. There is a division of time, then. But for most things, it is eternal time God uses.

You say that some of God is only for a "saved Jew". God created us all, loves us all. The Jews are special because God used them to show us His principles. They are still special for that reason. But, at the same time we are all one.

You say we must divide the word. That simply cannot be. The only division is before Christ lived in the flesh and after Christ did that. It made a difference in how Christ was for our atonement, our salvation. There was atonement through Christ before, but it was completed afterwards and the way we used blood changed.

You say some scripture is only addressed to the Hebrews. Scripture gives many instructions to the hebrews about opening their world to the gentiles who truly wanted to join them. They were to stay separate only from pagan ways, from pagans who lived that way. God would not exclude them from truly joining. Nor would he give instructions based only on race.

I find your method of reasoning in error, so your conclusions has to be.

John 3:14-21

14*And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15*That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16*For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17*For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18*He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19*And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20*For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21*But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13

9*I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

10*Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

11*But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

12*For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

13*But them that are without God judgeth.
Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

I believe we must endure to the end. I have seen many people come and get saved, but after a while the cares of this world took them and they went back to their former life, full of sin. Some even committing suicide. I think they were truly saved, but allowed Satan to rob them of that salvation. God will not force us to do anything. He respects our free will, He will lead and guide, but not force. I am not saying that its easy, He will come after you, but will not force you. You can jump out of the boat if yuownto. Had to throw in some southern lit.

The only hard work I see is the hard work in entering God's rest that he has for all that believe, and not all do believe even if they say they do, so in essence yes earlmayknowornot, but it is not self rigtheousness it is the righteousness of God that the beleiver recieves.
Now what is so hard in entering into God's rest is trusting God 100% at all times for all things good or bad that come our way, that happen to us.

And people fall away, whne they see trouble and go the easy route avoiding truth.
Yes some of the seed has not fallen on fertile soil, and has been burned by the cares of this world, but yes the ones that beleive God are tested a lot like Job, so you allwill we endure to the end trusting God.
One says they beleive, and if that one does they will endure to the end, otherwise they were only tasting, testing, trying out and if they walked away then they really never changed their mind to begin with to belief.
We have many Actors here in this world, and what I ask to see is motive so I can be aware as a serpent and harmless as a dove
So Yes one that does beleive sticks to the race, no matter what? if they do not then they never really came to belief.

We can have confidence on judgment day only if we are as Christ is.

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Perhaps we can agree thus far.
I agree to some extent. It's vital to acknowledge that our security is found in Christ alone. I wasn’t implying that we should rely on ourselves for that would be outright contradiction to what the scripture says, we can have victory if we put our confidence in God; those who rely on the flesh will fail and fall from the faith for the flesh profits nothing but the Spirit quickens and nourishes the soul. We are persuaded that God is able to keep us from falling and present us faultless before His throne but we shouldn't also be lax in adding to our faith the virtue of godliness otherwise we will fall from God's grace that it will be of no effect. In addition, even as we are trusting in Christ we should take heed lest ye fall and succumb to temptation. Something I've noticed is that many who propose unconditional eternal security never address verses like Eph 2:10 and Heb 5:9. A good student of the bible will harmonise the scripture rather than isolating a few and ignoring the rest to suit themselves. We have to take every passage into consideration; there are passages that allude about believer’s security in Christ however they don't imply that the security is unconditional when we compare them with other passages - it is conditioned upon our following Him. There's ample number of passages that states it's only those who follow Jesus in obedience to His word that have eternal life.

The Lord is able to keep the faith we have committed unto Him until He comes but we have our part to play which is surrendering and consecrating our lives to Him that’s why II Cor 6:1 says we are workers together with God thereby we don't indicate to have received His grace in vain. In regards to Phil 3:1-4, Paul was admonishing them to beware of Judaizars who were evil workers with counterfeit circumcision (concision) - they boasted in their conformity to the law, that physical circumcision saves them (Gal 5:2-6) however it does not avail rather it's the blood of Christ that washes away sins. Paul further explains that he and the brethren have the true circumcision (Phil 3:3) which is spiritual transformation whereby the Lord removes the stony heart and puts in a pure heart of flesh (one that is submissive to His will) thus they worship Him in spirit and rejoice in Christ. Likewise for true followers of Christ today, the stony heart has been eradicated thus they won't seek to walk in opposition to God neither will they boast in themselves but the One who is worthy. If one is still in a state where they seek to compromise with the world then they need to sincerely re-examine their life and go back to Calvary. John 10:27-28 says Jesus' sheep hear His voice, He knows them (II Tim 2:19), and they follow Him thus won't perish; that is the characteristics of a true believer, one who hears the word of God and obeys it. James 1:22 says that we should be doers of the word and not just hearers only.
Also, II John 1:9 says that whosoever lives in disobedience to the word of Christ does not have the Father in them.

Finally, if you jump out of a boat and into a river with crocodiles, are you still safe? No, you are endangering your life. If Noah had jumped out of the ark he wouldn't have still been safe but would have drowned with the rest. Likewise we are secure so long as we follow Christ, but we have free will so if we turn our backs on Christ due to the evil allurements of the world and place confidence in ourselves, we are exposing ourselves to the snare of the devil and losing out on the blessings and promises of God. The crown of life awaits the faithful.

From what you wrote Starfield, you seem to believe that our eternal security is conditional. And the truth of the matter is, it is not conditional. It is unconditional. Our salvation is based on what we have done with Jesus Christ at Calvary. Once we accept Jesus Christ, we are then baptized into His body( 1 Cor. 12:13), sealed by the Holy Ghost(Eph. 1:13 & Eph. 4:30), predestined to be conformed to His image (Rom. 8:29), and are predestined unto the adoption of His children by Jesus Christ according to the good pleasure of His will (Eph. 1:5).

Now what is conditional is our rewards at the Judgment seat of Christ ( 2 Cor. 5:10), as well as our testimony (Phil. 2:12-18), and our fellowship with the LORD while on this earth (1 John 1:7,9). Following Jesus is Discipleship. And we should all follow Jesus the best we can while on this earth. And we definitely should know the fellowship of Christ's sufferings and we should count it an honour to suffer for Him while on this earth ( Phil 3:10 & 2 Tim. 2:12). And there is a difference between salvation and discipleship. Salvation determines that you will spend eternity in Heaven. But discipleship and sanctification, and suffering for Christ down here will determine our Millennial Inheritance, our rewards in Heaven and in all Eternity.

Therefore our Eternal Security is unconditional.

We can have confidence on judgment day only if we are as Christ is.

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

You claimed many times that we have to be "sinless" to enter heaven. So in other words be God. Ok, good luck with that.

I will rely on Jesus who died to cover every one of my past, present and future sins.

I'm amazed at Starfield's knowledge of scripture. I think we need to be really careful with holding onto our doctrines so dearly. Instead, we should look to the Word of God and ask for wisdom to see it as it really is.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Luke 6:46 KJV
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
[SUP]23 [/SUP]And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

True faith bears works. Works do not save us, but true faith will make us move in accordance to God's will.

If there is anyone out there, youth especially, who is in doubt about their salvation, I encourage you to watch this sermon by Paul Washer on youtube
The Shocking Youth Message (Paul Washer) - YouTube There is a lot of bad doctrine out there floating around, but I don't think there are many as deadly as the doctrine of 'once saved always saved.' Read the Word of God yourselves and ask in the name of Jesus for wisdom.

God bless guys.

edit- Just wanted to reaffirm how awesome starfield is :)

Where does the Bible ever say our future sins are already forgiven?
