I was just wanting to ask a few questions pertaining to this Jezebel, one of two is (multi part question), Where and When did this doctrine of Jezebel originate and from who? and the second, Are those with the signs of Jezebel, could you say, possessed?
I would not refer to the concept of a Jezebel spirit (demon) being doctrine. It came out of deliverance ministries. It does not come from the bible, although I believe it is hinted at in Revelation 2:20. I have personally encountered this demon twice. The first time it was in a godly women and dear friend of mine. The secound time it was in a man and it was cast out.
There are many, many different types of demons and they all have a name. That name is not a personal name but more of a title. The first time I encountered a demon I demanded to tell me it's name. I was green back then and this seemed to be the right thing to do. It said it's name was "depression". Obviously the name of the demons suggests something it focuses on.
The bible only mentions one demon by name, "Legion". But other names of demons that are very common are Fear, lust, addition, rage, etc. Some demons are named after other people, animals and idols like: Ashtoreth, Baal, Leviathan Athena, Krishna, Kali, Ahab and the list goes on and on and on...
When Satan and his minions were cast out of Heaven, they separated themselves from true creativity. Satan often copies the things or concepts and uses them to achieve his purposes. No doubt satan reads the bible and knows it well. Jezebel shows up in Kings. Satan has copied the traits of the original Jezebel into a whole mess of demons. Jezebel is a very common demon and every deliverance ministry has encountered it.
It is more commonly found in women but men can also have it. The women who have this do exhibit some common personality traits but it widely varies in intensity. Typically they are domineering, controlling, manipulative, make others feel likes they are walking on egg shells around her, often women with this demon are very religious, they may start a whispering campagn against leaders in the church, use false accusations to discredit them, dominate their husbands and resent him for it.
There was one lady in my former church who fit many of the triats above. She was always saying false prophecies and worked her way into the hierachy of the church. Then she started to level false accusations against the pastor and a woman in charge of the prayer ministry on seperate issues. She would invite people to her home and then get them to believe her lies. Eventually she was kicked out of the church but she continued to make her false claims to anyone who would listen to her. She continued to contact people and try to get them to meet her, then she would do her best to convince them that the pastor had serious issues. It caused a great deal of grief for the pastor. I don't have any facts that say she was indwelt by this foul demon, but her actions were 100% consist with a Jezebel infected women.
